Kids and hotels

I want to take my kids to the beach and stay over night somewhere as we don’t live close to the beach and I will be getting the train but I’ve noticed most places like premier inn etc only allow for 2 kids, how do those with more go away overnight? Don’t want to use an air b&b prefer a hotel, what do others do?

Caravan/lodge? B and b in a family room?

BiscoffSundae · 28/07/2022 19:19

Only want one night so not sure caravan etc would work for that

Did 3 in a Premier Inn and they were very accommodating. Have you called them?

No looking online but it only allows to add 2 I have 4, so not sure they would let an extra 2 off 🤔

We travelled 4 hours by car with 3 kids and suddenly realised we were a day earlier to our lodge reservation 🫢

Ducksurprise · 28/07/2022 19:25

Premier inn allow four, just book two adults two children or are there more than four of you?

Ducksurprise · 28/07/2022 19:26

Just seen your update, you will need two rooms, premier inn do interconnecting rooms

BiscoffSundae · 28/07/2022 19:27

You can stay in a youth hostel - we are 5 (2adults plus 3 kids) and we took a room for 6 including bathroom. Kids loved us all sleeping in bunks!

PuttingDownRoots · 28/07/2022 21:28

How old? Some Premier Inns allow a travel cot in addition to the beds.

mindutopia · 28/07/2022 21:33

I think 5 in a hotel room is quite optimistic. In your situation, we’d either need to book a holiday cottage or we’d book 2 hotel rooms that are adjoining and/or adults would need to split up if there’s 2 of you.

BiscoffSundae · 28/07/2022 21:38

Ah I think I will forget it then my dad was going to pay for us and a holiday cottage would be too much it was only meant to be for one night, kids are too big for cot youngest is 5. It would have been just me no other adult

As PP said, Premier Inn do interconnecting rooms. Just leave the door open between them.

felulageller · 28/07/2022 21:51

Youth hostel is the best bet for one adult 4 DC's.

We've done 5 a few times. We had a family room in a B&B for 5 around 5 years ago when the children were aged 10-17yo.
We've also taken 5 into a travel lodge when they were smaller, booked a family room and just walked in separately (as in one adult one child, then one adult two children) and never been challenged.

BiscoffSundae · 28/07/2022 22:59

I don’t have another adult unfortunately I’m a lone parent, was thinking of putting my oldest as an adult then adding a cot 🤔 so that’s 4 and a cot?!

You can't put a 5 year old in a cot tho! How old is your eldest?

BiscoffSundae · 28/07/2022 23:11

Wasn’t going to... oldest is 11
