My oldest son

My family have been through some really difficult times. Just to touch on them. Being homeless. Learning difficulties. Mental health. Domestic violence. Special needs. Single parent no support at all.

So I just wanted to say somthing positive. My son is almost 20. He done great at school and he passed his A levels. And now he is training to be a police officer. I saw him in his uniform today. I'm so proud of him. He is so determined that he's going to do well for himself. I think he has done fantastic against the odds. I have nothing more to say. Just so proud of him ❤️

That’s lovely OP. Congratulations to both of you. You have raised him well despite the rotten times you have had. Be proud, of yourself as well as your son 💐

Amazing.

We must all take a moment to acknowledge and recognise good things when they happen.

So happy for you and your son.

Congratulations

That is a lovely story 💐. It is so great, after the struggle and sacrifice, to see a positive future; that all your hard work has paid off. I am sure his life experience will make him a great Police Officer.

MerylSqueak · 27/07/2022 19:44

Congratulations. You did a good job. 😁

I thought this as well. I think it will help him work empathy and understanding. And coming from the background he has. I think it will really help him.

I love this OP so nice to read something positive on here. I opened it with trepidation thinking it was another parent with a problem son.

You must be fit to burst. And from a random Mnet Viper well done and give yourself credit and be proud that you raised him so well. Huge congratulations to you too! Flowers

@Doingood
This is such a lovely post to read this evening.

I am so so proud of all of my children especially after the last few years of covid and the world feeling like an absolute shit show.

It's so nice to hear positive things.

Staynow · 27/07/2022 20:35

Oh I have definitely been that mum as well with my other son.. and had typical worries about my older son but falls within the normal bracket.

Yes I'm super proud. I'm so glad he has believed in himself and knows that he can do so well for himself. Even if he was born with a plastic spoon in his mouth.
