My daughter has very small feet - any recommendations for shoes?

My daughter has just turned 16. She is about 5' but only has size 13.5 feet! She can sometimes fit a 1 if the sizes run small.

She wears mainly trainers and converse at the moment but doesn't want to live in these all her life!

Other women with small feet - where do you buy your shoes??

That is tiny! DS1 has the opposite problem - massive feet, I think he was probably that size at age 3.....

Anyway, we get his shoes from the "wide foot shoe" specialist website and it looks like they have a small foot one too

I have a DS with dinky feet and it is really hard to find footwear! We get some of his shoes at River Island and their girls range looks good too www.riverisland.com/c/girls/footwear?f-sizes=1

Look at the Next girls shoes. I buy quite a few nice shoes from there and some come in half sizes.

Thanks.

It's shoes that look like adults shoes that she really wants. She doesn't mind having small feet but it would be nice to have thenption of wearing 'grown ip' shoes amd not always looking in the children section that she wants.

underneath Thanks! Just really needed to know that, when she's 30, her only option won't be children's shoes!

I'm a 2.5/3 and it's hard enough but I live in DMs anyway so less of an issue for me!

Yes, definitely Next kids. I am size UK 7 EU41 and get a lot of my shoes from Next kids as they are pretty much the same as the adult shoes only a lot cheaper! And they do a huge range of sizes - no other children's range goes up that big but they start the range from a children's size 10 EU 28

Dippydonky · 27/07/2022 08:13

Can’t speak for kids shoes now but I have small feet and it is rubbish!! When I was a kid I was always in more boyish shoes… I have small wide feet and limited options! However 30+ years ago all my shoes needed to come from Clark’s (still remember that machine that measured feet)

I’m sure shoes have got bigger over time - I used to be ok in most size 3, now they’re normally too big!

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 27/07/2022 08:19

Might not be a hugely practical suggestion at the moment, but DSis has small (and narrow) feet and she always bought shoes when in Spain or Italy as they seem to have more small sizes there, even at markets. Ordering online from Europe is an option if you're not visiting, though more expensive.

AmberGer · 27/07/2022 08:20

Not what you want to hear but I would take her to GP to make sure there's no underlying reason why her feet are so small.
DS is 16, 6ft and size 3 feet, we took him to the Dr's and it has opened a can of worms! He's now undergoing many further investigations.
It may be nothing and that's just how her feet are but please get checked.

BringOnSummerHolidays · 27/07/2022 08:23

I have small feet but size 4 UK. If she is only 5 foot then size 1 isn’t too small. There are many smaller women on size 2 and 3s. Your options are sadly only teen shoes. I go to schuh and very and select by brands. I wear dr martins and trainers.

angelopal · 27/07/2022 08:26

You could try ASOS as I am a 2 and get shoes from there. Also Amazon do lots of small sizes. They most likely will come from China but should have a good choice. I have bought a couple of pairs for work and happy with them.

ifonly4 · 27/07/2022 08:28

My DD is around a size 1/1.5, so has the same problem. Yes, trainers and boots are a lot easier to find. Over the years she's come to like boots as there tends to be more choice. With regard to buying shoes, it's been a case of being persistent - she's got things from M&S and Next occasionally, she does have a lovely pair of silver shoes from her leavers ball which she actually got from New Look a few years ago. Very occasionally Gap has had something.

Not cheap, but there is a site called smallfeet, which might be worth bearing in mind for special occasions.

Toyingyu · 27/07/2022 08:34

I'm a size 4 which seems to be small among my friends but I do love having small feet. She will grow to love them honestly. My mam is a 3 but she's only 5ft whereas I'm 5ft 6 so slightly unbalanced.
When we lived in Thailand it was very easy to get small ladies shoes as women there must have smaller feet. I don't know if there are any Thai or Chinese websites she could look at for ladies shoes?

ifonly4 · 27/07/2022 08:36

If she seems healthy, I wouldn't worry about taking her to the doctor as mentioned by another poster. My DD is probably around 4'11", size 1-1/5 feet and has tiny hands (never found a ring to fit her). Her great grandparents were both small.

ConnieSaks · 27/07/2022 08:41

I have small feet and love shoes (am a size 34/2 if true to size).

Pretty Small Shoes do lovely shoes - and definitely a size 1(not cheap but I used to treat myself to a pair a year)

ebay is my friend too! Just put in size 1/33 and lots of options should appear! I buy a lot of geox - very comfortable and great wedges! I also like their childrens range - which don’t look like part of a childrens range (given the number of women who have asked where they are from)! Geox come up quite small as I fit their size 35!

my best eBay buy was a size 34 pair of Manolo Blahnik’s (sample size and brand new) for £100!

Nidan2Sandan · 27/07/2022 08:46

I get a lot from Amazon or the Next kids section.

Sports direct do some nice shoes on small sizes as well.

I do live in trainers/converse mostly as with tiny feet I also have a very high arch so the laces are a benefit for me.

ConnieSaks · 27/07/2022 08:52

I also recall finding some small sizes in the teenage range at New Look (cheap but often a bit uncomfortable - so no good for me now but could be perfect for your DD?).

As a result of this thread I’ve now found some nice looking sandals in next - never looked there before so thank you (I think!)

TheTeenageYears · 27/07/2022 09:28

I would try and look for Japanese or maybe Spanish/Italian websites to find adult shoes in that kind of size.

SmallShoes · 27/07/2022 09:44

Thanks for the recommendations!!

I'm not concerned - small feet run in the family. My mum was 5'5 with size 4; I'm 5'3 with size 2.5/3. She just takes after us!

But 13.5 does seem very small! She loves it tbh. She's not bothered but would like to wear nice shoes at some point.

She was prem and ran below the 0.4th centile for height and weight until she hit puberty. She's now 5' and a size 4 clothes so still petite but finding nice clothes seems to be easier than finding nice shoes!

We'll look at the small feet website thanks. European and further afield seems a good shout too!
