Went a few weeks ago and loved it.

best places to eat
Salty’s
Florentinos
Bay of Bengal

We also booked a local babysitter and she was amazing. Money well spent.

We didn't enjoy. Went out of season - March - and a lot of it was closed. We couldn't see the attraction of Tenby at all but lots of people had recommended it to us!

I ate morrocan lamb kebabs at Billycan in Tenby and I've literally thought about them every day since! That was in 2019!
Love Tenby. Not a beach fan usually but loved the town beach there- clean, sheltered, good facilities, sand was 'just right'.

I love it and it is as good for teens as littlies. Seriously want to retire there if a house on Lexden Terrace ever came on the market.

From Saudersfoot definitely walk through the tunnels on the coastal path. Get the bus to Tenby - they are quite frequent and it only takes 15 minutes and drops you right by the walled town which is closer than you could park. Tenby offers a range of boat trips Caldey is like another country and the chocolate is great (perfume not so great). If you can afford it the rib ride around the two islands is great as you get really close up to the seals and sea birds. Manorbier is worth a visit - pebble beach and castle with a nice tea room.

My favourite cafe in Sandersfoot is Butternut - really lovely food beautifully put together.

In Tenby Plantagenet House is great but pricey and you'd need to book and if you want the seafood you need to book that in advance too...

If you have teens then consider the watersport companies - standup paddleboarding group session or coasteering - they will come back tired, sandy and exhausted but happy....

Beautiful place. We go often (live in South wales). Bay tree is nice for food. On a good weather day tbete is no better seaside resort in the UK.

Tenby is nice but you can't spend more than a few hours there. The attractions are within a short drive like Manor Park, Folly Farm,Heatherton.

The mad busy though and parking is pretty poor.

Great choice - Tenby is lovely.

Plantagenet is a fantastic restaurant

Much too busy for my liking. We were literally pushing our way through the crowds in the town and this wasn’t during school holidays.

The staffing crisis in pubs and restaurants was very apparent and we often just bought sandwiches and ate them on the beach. I find Pembrokeshire very weather dependent. If you have a wet week there isn’t that much to do in Tenby unless you don’t mind getting soaked.

I tend to stay in Saundersfoot, it’s lovely there.

There’s a terrific restaurant called Coast on the edge of Saundersfoot. Michelin star I believe. Food is wonderful (I wouldn’t call it child-friendly though).

KatherineJaneway · 28/07/2022 08:37

Yes!

Won't repeat what has already been said but if it is a nice day, make sure you eat reasonable early, as all the restaurants etc will be rammed.

There's a webcam for Saundersfoot beach. Busy today!

Coast is a lovely place to eat but you will need to book. If you fancy something different try Wild Lakes. If you do not fancy the activities then definitely book to eat in the teepee as the food and atmosphere is amazing. Again if you want a trip out Narberth is lovely and has great places to eat. Tenby I avoid in the summer as it is busy. Saundersfoot has a great beach and have fish and chips from the chippie at the edge of the car park as they are fab.
