Is it awful?
Looking to cook Ryan air in august, is this the worst decision ever?

cooking an airline probably doesn't make them fly faster

floweringpoppies · 26/07/2022 23:53

@lljkk 🤣🤣🤣 I'm not sure it will help the situation at all!!

What do you mean? Awful as in there is a lack of staffing across the airline industry and there will be long queues and a risk of cancellation - which is currently at every airport/many airlines - or awful because it doesn’t have certain shops/restaurants etc. Assume all airports will be chaos in August during a normal year and you’ve set your expectation.

Stansted is no worse than a lot of airports and better than some.

Following as I’m flying from Stansted in August. A couple of people I know have done it recently and said everything was OK.
There haven’t been any horror stories in the media so hoping for the best.

PolaDeVeboise · 27/07/2022 08:03

The horror stories in the media are just that - stories. Yes, there are issues, but the situation across most Airports is nowhere near as bad as the media is making it out to be.

DD always books Ryanair, as sometimes she doesn't know how much luggage she wants to carry and can add on. She's a student abroad right now and a condition of her being there was she could prove she intended to come home, so she's had a Ryanair flight booked to Stansted since last August.

floweringpoppies · 27/07/2022 21:54

@StRaphael I think I'm just generally worried about getting a flight due to all the stories in the news. From the little research I have done stansted seems to be a bit better than Heathrow and Gatwick.

We'll just take cabin baggage as I think hold luggage can be an issue

I think just taking hand luggage is the way to go. Expect queues but I’d give it a go and actually RyanAir has far less cancellations than other airlines don’t they?

If you’d have said Manchester I’d say hell no!

@StRaphael yes they do, I'm just keeping everything crossed it goes to plan!
