Is this worth seeing a dentist for?

I can't open my mouth the full way

It's my left wisdom tooth. The pain from it is horrific, like something that shouldn't be there is sharp and stuck. It even cuts into my other gum near the tooth next to it

I can't afford to go private

What on earth do I do?

Yes definitely. Emergency treatment is £23.80 and if it needs surgically removing it will probably be done in a hospital setting and you won’t have to pay.

Sorry I forgot to add, have you got any dental floss? It may just be something stuck down your gum line that you can get out yourself.

Thank you @AchillesLastStand will a private dentist see me for emergency treatment?

It's definitely the tooth, if I put my finger on it I can feel it, it's so sharp Sad

100% call your dentist as soon as they open. I’m a dental receptionist and we would see you in our first nhs emergency slot. We keep them open for emergencies like this.

I’ve had this before. My tooth was so sharp I could hardly talk and kept getting ulcers on my tongue when I did. Your dentist will need to file down your tooth so it’s not sharp. It should be easy and relatively inexpensive to sort out (fingers crossed!). See your dentist ASAP.

If you phone 111 they should be able to put you in touch with an emergency NHS dentist.

Phone 111 and ask them to direct you to the closest NHS emergency dental walk in clinic.
