Hello all. We are currently inmalaga and it is very hot. We have 4 children and struggling to find things to do in the day. We visited Al Hambra early today and it was beautiful. We went to sea life centre yesterday and had planned to do the other water animal park and bioparc but its too hot and no shade.

I have Googled and googled and wandered if anyone can suggest anything we might have missed? We are in frigliana but happy to drive 1 to 1.5 hours.

Thanks

Frigiliana? The village above Nerja? Nerja itself is nice for a visit/wander round, lunch on the front, beach etc. The caves near there are also worth a visit, and might be quite cool on a hot day? There's also a waterpark that is quite good, somewhere on the main road between Nerja and Malaga, but I can't quite remember where. I think there's a few in that area though.

Depending on the ages of your kids the caves are Maro are definitely worth a visit - been a couple of times. And they’re cool as well.
the beach at Torox is nice but doubt you’ll get too much shade there.
Nerja itself is lovely - the kids loved tapas bar hoping. The rotunda was their fave, especially the chorizo that they set on fire.

Found the waterpark, it was just south of the main road at Velez-Malaga. Not the best waterpark I've ever been to, but good for a few hours, and the staff were great

If you do go to the caves at Maro there’s a nice botanical gardens if you head down into Maro itself.

You need to plan things for before midday and after 5pm. I don’t know if you’re sticking to normal bedtimes but I’d recommend just adopting the Spanish routine. Do some things in the morning, then long naps / rest until 5 or 6pm, then head out for more activities so you don’t feel like your day is wasted.

Thanks all. Yes I wanted to see the caves. We are trying to stay home when it's hot. We have a pool. Been using in the evenings kids are 3, 5,7 and 9 and driving us mad saying they are bored. I think we made a mistake booking for 2 weeks. 7 days would have been better I think with their ages!
