East Sheen/Richmond/Kew - what to do for 3 hrs

Hello,

It's a long shot but can anyone advise what can I do for 3 hours in these areas as my DD will be having summer workshops every day next week in Kew. We live in Kingston and I don't want to drive back home only to come come a pick her up shortly after.

Anything from yoga, pilates, coffee coffee shops, library etc.

Thank you x

Chiswick House, Kew Gardens

Kew is an option but I don't want to go there every day. We've been members for 1.5 years and been there 2, 3 times a week with DD.

I'd like to do something different but I don't know the area very well.

Short drive or walk to Richmond Park, and go for a walk? It’s big enough you could do a few different routes, for variety.

Walk along the river - depending on how fast you walk/how long you have - you could walk as far as Barnes (Orange Pekoe & Cafe 40 on White Hart Lane are lovely) or maybe even Chiswick/Hammersmith on the other side (Elderpress cafe lovely too)
Go paddle boarding at Active360 at Kew Bridge (have to book but there might be times that work)

Also:
Visit the National Archives in Kew. They sometimes have events/exhibitions on
Visit the museum of water & steam in Brentford

Thank you. Walking by the river and stopping at a coffee shop sounds good. Thank you for the recommendations @LivesinLondon2000

I would second the archives. Fascinating and also free which not much is these days.😀

@Whattodohere1
Yes - a walk along the river is always nice 😊
I think part of the towpath from Kew to Barnes might be closed at the moment for works around Mortlake area but I’m sure there will be signs to direct you if so or you can cross at Chiswick or Barnes Bridge to avoid it

Thank you, I'll try the National Archives. I meant to take DD to the Water and Steam museum so maybe after her class x

Do you have National Trust membership? Shortish drives to Ham House, or across to Osterley Park House.

Ham House is close to home so I don't want to drive all that way back. We've been members until end of March.
