Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, listening to the birds & odd bits of noise from neighbours who are up. The washer's finished so I'll pop the washing out in a mo.

We're off to town for something for the girls' dads birthday today -not sure what yet but hopefully inspiration will strike! We'll likely end up at the fruit and veg stall too for more fruits 😋

I need to nip to Boyes, and the haberdashery stall on the market, if they don't have what I want. 🤞they do! This weekend's quick make is turning an old shirt into a graduation gown. So far the collar and pocket are off, and it's washed.

When we get in; dd2 has plans to Minecraft with the online friend she made in the first lockdown. I've no idea what dd1 plans to do - probably not much since it's the first day of the summer hols (I have 3 days left 😢). I plan to straighten the bottom hem of the shirt and shorten the sleeves but that might happen tomorrow 🤷‍♀️ I want to get my crochet out too - it's been a bit neglected this half term.

No idea what's for tea, I'm using the contents of the freezer up & a bit short of inspiration now. I'll have a glass of wine with whatever it is though.

Up, first load of washing on- kids watching TV and breakfast

Having a coffee and meal planning for the week which is my least favourite task! Then off to Aldi- more washing and have a hen do tonight 🥳

Schlepped out of bed at 8.30, I’ve been on the sofa with DD since having toast and coffee while she watches CBeebies. She’s currently having a tantrum as we won’t let her pour dog biscuits into the bowl.

Ive got a few things to do this weekend but haven’t put them into order yet. Need to pop into local city to finish shopping for DD’s birthday next week, there’s some painting in the house that needs to be finished off and a ton of housework.

but first things first, fake tan.

I'm currently sat watching rubbish TV on low volume while DP has a lie in.

DP will be up soon and will make breakfast and then we have a Saturday morning routine of doing a quick clean up before showering and getting ready for the day.

We'll probably have a wander into our local town as there is a fantastic market there on a Saturday and there is a handmade jewellery stall and I have my eye on a couple of necklaces so might treat myself to one. Will probably get a coffee there and people watch for a bit. I also need a floor mop so will have a look for one whilst out.

We'll then come home and read and generally potter about for a bit, and then I'll cook dinner - planning a roast chicken which I'm then going to put into wraps with salad and I bought some Nando's sauce to go with it yesterday. Will do some wedges with it too.

Will probably see if there's anything on TV later, then listen to some music together with a few glasses of wine and then go to bed.

We were up early (as always!) courtesy of DDog and Dchickens. I’m on my second load of washing and have made a cake which I’m waiting to cool down to put the icing on. DS10 is playing Roblox and DH and I are sitting having breakfast in the garden 🪴 quiet day here today. Lots of jobs and cleaning to do!

I love this little snapshot into everyday life-so often we only read of extremes.

@PlantPhoenix , so sorry you're going through this, hope your dh is as comfortable and peaceful as possible.

I'm currently sitting in the garden with a coffee whilst the muffins I made are cooling. Dh has taken the dog out so all is quiet.

We're off to London this afternoon, meeting friends for a late lunch/early dinner before going to see a play and yes I'll be wearing the ubiquitous dress and trainers!

Tomorrow will be another nice day as meeting some gf's for a day of yoga.

Last weekend was a bit of a washout for various reasons so very pleased this one is full of nice things.

Day off today. Big shift tomorrow so having a lazy morning. Taking DS to a party later and DH and DD are going for a wander to the shops.

Quietbnight planned tonight, possibly a movie.

It's the first proper day of holiday for us (UK seaside)

We've just has croissants and juice in the garden, middle DC and I have nipped out for supplies and then we'll head to the beach.

Looking like perfect weather, we have a beachside restaurant booked for dinner later. Life is good.

I’m still in bed drinking coffee. My partner is putting croissants in the oven and the girls are still snoring. My nails need doing and we’ll have an indoor oven ‘BBQ’ later (no garden!). The sun is shining so I might drag myself out for a run.

I was up at 6am and left shortly after for work - a 3.5 hour train ride away. There are severe delays on GWR in the Bristol / Cardiff area so we’ve been stopping on and off for the past hour. Thankfully I booked an early train.

Will be working approx 11am to 5.30pm. Then train back… tonight I have to clean a bit, do cat litter, water the garden and pack yet again to go to Suffolk tomorrow morning…

However I have a delicious gyoza and spicy noodles ready meal waiting in the fridge for dinner, and that’s something I’m really looking forward to!

DH has taken the children to the mini morning at the cinema, later on I’ll do the ballet run for the boys whilst DH has a bit of time to himself, then we will all just chill. Having the children’s favourite for tea tonight, wraps so I’ll start on that about 6.

Got back from our UK holiday yesterday afternoon and I'm shattered.
It was a rather stressful holiday for me sadly (never ever taking mum away again!)
I have a mountain of washing to do today yet I'm still lying here watching only murders in the building on Disney +
So today will be washing and putting washing out. I need to go to the shops too but might send dh.

We’re on our holiday, the baby is having a nap so I’ve stayed at the villa while my husband takes my son to the shops, because when you’re in Spain your diet has to be mainly oddly shaped crisps.

We have some friends coming over later who live locally, I haven’t seen them sinve before covid, so I’m looking forward to that. We have a private chef coming tonight to cook for us, so not having to lift a finger will be lovely.

I hope everyone else enjoys their saturday and I hope it goes as well as it can for you Phoenix.

Rearranging the spare room for a visit then DH is travelling down South to collect MIL for a week with us. He will do DIY and is taking her for a medical procedure on Monday, they return Tuesday.

He got a promotion yesterday so we will go to our favourite pub that’s in the village about a mile away for lunch before he leaves. I am spending the evening gaming and then watching a horror film, DH doesn’t like them .DS GF is not here this weekend so may watch it with him. Only issue is we then prank each other to try and give each other the heebie jeebies.

Thank you for this thread! Was just feeling a bit down as our lives seem so quiet and dull and I don’t know what to do with ds 14. Dh and dd both away, so it’s just us. I’d like to do something special but seems he only likes minecraft! Guess I’ll tidy up again. Suggestion of a run is a goody. Might try!

Have done my kettlebells, been for a walk and am at work form 12 to midnight

Morning 👋🏼 ☀️ DH brought me a coffee in bed after a rubbish night, currently 26 weeks pregnant and finding sleep elusive. Took the dogs for an early walk in the shade and now back home and sunbathing. Well I’m in the shade, I’m a winter person but the breeze today is making the heat quite pleasant. Will pop to the pub for a drink in a bit. This weekend is the calm before the storm as we have three different sets of guests staying over the next three weeks, so we are making the most of the peace ☮️ have a lovely weekend everyone 🍄
