'food is life' or 'food is fuel'?

so I was chatting to a friend and she says she is in the 'food is life' category, whereas personally I'm very unfused about food and would say I'm in the 'food is fuel' category

was wondering where others stand?

Fuel. If I could take a tablet marked 'breakfast' 'lunch' 'dinner' instead of having to actually cook/eat I'd do it without a doubt! Probably hugely influenced by the fact that I have unpredictable IBS and so food is very rarely pleasurable, more often that not I'm eating thinking "I hope this doesn't trigger a flare up.."

Food is lovely but I don't think about it all the time because there are loads of other lovely things to think about too. I don't really understand either extreme tbh.

Totally depends on the day for me—but I’d say I’m definitely in the “food is life” camp, especially when Zaxby’s has their specials going! 😂 Like, when that Chicken Finger Plate or the Big Zax Snak Meal hits the menu with a deal? That’s not just fuel—that’s a full-on experience. Add some Crinkle Fries, Texas Toast, and Zax Sauce from Zaxbys Specials https://zaxbysmenu.us/ , and suddenly food becomes the highlight of the day. Life’s too short not to enjoy it bite by bite!

Good food is both life and an expression of love.

It's a huge part of my (mixed) heritage and culture and a way to keep in touch with my Indian DM's roots. The most treasured possessions are handwritten recipes from family members long gone. In fact there's currently a huge family WhatsApp trying to find a recipe my grandad used to make.

One DD loves good food, one DD is food is fuel plus underweight and DH prefers plain cooking... So it's a very difficult balance for me to tread every single day.

Interestingly I've been reading a book called the Domestic Revolution by Ruth Goodman which is fascinating in terms of how English cookery changes very quickly with the introduction of coal, instead of wood, as the main fuel for cooking with. I recommend it if that sort of history interests you.

Drinking water infused with coriander and mint is a refreshing way to detox, aid digestion, and stay hydrated. The herbs add a natural, cooling flavor along with numerous health benefits. Unlike the rich indulgence of Crumbl new flavors this drink supports wellness with every sip

It’s both. Dh and I didn’t actually need the blackcurrant pie we had last night (puddings are rare here) but it certainly enhanced our lives for a bit!
