Just that. Curious!

Just the usual night in with my dog.

WelcomeEverythingIsFine · 22/07/2022 22:23

Planning what to put in my new greenhouse whilst watching tv with my dog. The dream!

AllCatsAreBeautiful · 22/07/2022 23:33

Not single but currently living alone. I made spaghetti, watched an old episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and now I’m reading Wuthering Heights for a bit before going to bed. Normally I see friends in the pub on a Friday night but I’ve had quite a busy week, and including some midweek socialising, so I’m happy to have a quiet one.

Kenwouldmixitup · 22/07/2022 23:42

Received decree absolute. Lobbed it in a file. Pleased to feel neutral about it.

Started a degree today, so off to the local read and make notes on the first assignment. Very excited.

Reading mumnet, then planning some military/intelligence aspects with satellite data, then a cuppa tea

BriceNobeslovesMurielHeslop · 22/07/2022 23:54

I had a stir fry (with seconds), caught up with Stranger Things (too much going on IMHO, but I’m a massive Kate Bush fan so that makes me happy) and bed soon. Housework tomorrow then a walk and dinner with a friend whose been having a hard time while isolating, and I’m hoping to go foraging along the canal at some point for berries and maybe make a little wildflower bouquet (there are a LOT of wild Flores along the canal, in case anybody is worried)

Draughtycatflapreturns · 23/07/2022 00:08

Ate dinner that my husband made
watched an obscure film together
prised the cat off my lap for five minutes peace
discussed odd film
realised cat has snuck back
bitched about house being still too hot two days after heatwave
prised cat off my chest and face to avoid suffocation
drank coffee
bed
browsed mumsnet on phone
still trying to get cat off me

I went to a Rolling Stones tribute concert on my own, and it was brilliant. They ended on Brown Sugar, Jumping Jack Flash, and I Can’t Get No Satisfaction - the whole concert hall was rocking and dancing! All us oldies reliving our misspent teenage years…Grin

DatingIsDifficult · 23/07/2022 01:10

I’m single, live alone and my offspring have left home. Do I qualify to join in or not really? No problem if not.

Aintgointogoa · 23/07/2022 02:08

I live in a tropical country and a gentle rain (as opposed to blasting storms of previous weeks) is falling, making the balcony smell nice - petrichor ? - I had watered the plants earlier. Never mind ! Both cats are sprawled on the bed which I didn’t even bother to make properly today. I can hear the enthusiastic crowds listening to a live band (open air) a couple of blocks away. I have eaten yesterday’s cauli & chickpea curry with cous cous, which was delish. Made with a carefully guarded Spice Tailor sauce I brought back from UK. Worth the wait ! I have washed up and cleared the decks. White wine in hand, heading for said bed to binge on Ted Lasso. It’s just gone 8 pm here. I have to take a test tmrw am as friend just came down with covid after arriving from Europe on Monday. Bummer. But if I have to isolate it wouldn’t be the end of the world. I am used to it ! And it’s nice to check in with fellow MN “loners” Flowers

Aintgointogoa · 23/07/2022 02:11

@Babdoc that sounds so much fun ! I would have gone by myself as well ! 💃

Babdoc · 23/07/2022 08:17

Aintgointogo, it was fab! I’d recently had to isolate for 2 weeks waiting for my covid test to go negative, and then my various clubs had been cancelled for the heatwave, so I was desperate to get out of the house and have some company.
Going back to the concert hall tomorrow night for the Drifters gig. I’ll be singing along to all their old classics - Under the Boardwalk, Saturday Night at the Movies etc.

I'm late to the party, but last night I went to the theatre on my own. The person next to me was sitting by herself too, and we had a nice chat before the show and during the interval.

FortonServices · 23/07/2022 08:25

I'm a single parent, DD goes to her Dad's every other weekend. Not sure if I count?

Last night I went paddle boarding, then a swim and a sauna. Washed my (long - it takes ages) hair. Got home at 9 and got into bed and watched tv til I passed out around 11.

Now, what to do today? Food shopping, including a treat for later, clean car, apply for new job. Gym (weights) and a swim and sauna later then a nice dinner and a film.

Going hiking with my hiking group tomorrow. Then a date with my FWB on Sunday night.

@DatingIsDifficult Hahaha, of course! I wasn't aiming to exclude anyone in particular.

Ah great! So I went to the library, picked up The Midnight Library plus saw The City And The City which I didn’t think they had. I’ve wanted to read those two for a while now so I’m extremely happy. Then Sainsbury’s and bed. Not massively exciting but it was a win win for me. And I’ve not read an actual novel for a few years and I really want to get back into them. Since I got a smartphone maybe four??? years ago books have been sadly neglected.

Yesterday I met my mum who I've only just made up with after a 9 month fall out, visited a nearby coastal town, had lunch with wine, all in all a nice day considering. Came home with more wine and crashed out after a couple of hours of telly.

Today I've met a friend for a quick coffee before their baby comes, made breakfast and going to research new jobs, any groups I can join and think about cooking something nice for dinner. I feel stuck in a bit of a rut so looking at changing things up a bit, including sacking off a couple of long term friends who are actually quite toxic and are doing nothing for me. A positive Saturday!

All this sounds so positive. It’s too easy to get into a rut and let things carry on as they’ve always been, without being able to gather the energy to do something about it. I’m trying to change things a bit too, so I’m cheering you on!

Oo - can we hear more about this please? Sounds fascinating.

My night consisted of home at 5pm, workout, Chinese takeaway, watched Yellowstone on Paramount + watered the garden, sat outside with the cat, a cold drink and a book. Bliss.

Supersee · 23/07/2022 12:44

@DatingIsDifficult thanks! Right back at you! Don't get me wrong life hasn't turned out the way I thought it would. Constantly trying to keep loneliness at bay is hard work (I don't have a great support network) but trying to change my mindset instead of getting down about it.

Also intrigued about the military/intelligence aspects post!
