Coping with energy bills on maternity

Sorry if this is a tired thread but I’m really starting to get worried about energy bills!

I am due in October my first baby. I don’t live with the dad- I only get state basic 6 weeks of 90% of my salary which will be worked out on 2 payslips that show an annual salary roughly of 42 thousand.

how the heck am I going to keep my home warm for baby when she comes on benefits- I will be on maternity till at least Easter. I’ve never been on benefits before and have little idea of how it works. My outgoings on direct debits- mortgage, home insurance, internet council tax, water car insurance, Phone, life insurance, vet direct debit (I have two cats and this makes treatment free and is £15 a month) Comes to £730 a month.

I save currently £200 a month for energy bills but after august how will I pay this! I’m so worried about it. As an estimate with heating I think in October to Jan the total outgoings is £930 but with the Jan predictions I assume I am looking at £1130 outgoings! My heating used to be £98 a month but it’s sky rocketing as we all know and I can’t scrimp on heating for the baby!

I don’t have savings really as I recently had to pay my mother back a large loan for the deposit on my home as my father died recently and she has no money whilst she disputes with the pension ombudsman plus I owe her it anyway so my savings have disappeared to £2000
