Going away next week to the coast with the stepkids and in laws and want to meal plan for seven nights. Have lots of ideas but can anyone share their experiences pls- what did you actually eat when away?
Two of us are gluten free, I don't eat processed meat or dairy and kids will eat their usual chicken nuggets.

We usually do a mixture of eating out and cooking. To be honest, as I’m on holiday , usually can’t be bothered to cook, so it usually ends up being pizza and salad!

I also mix out and at home. But if the weather is warm I like to just prepare platters of dips, vegetable sticks, boiled eggs, cold meats followed by fruit and cheese and meringue nests. Usually everyone can find something they like and for my fussy DCS they tend to eat more veg than they might otherwise.

I would only get an idea of what you might like. Until you check out the kitchen and equipment. We often take a couple of things cooked from home - a curry - frozen and can defrost over 48 hours, a chilli or bolognaise - serve with rice....microwave if i am lazy....chapattis, pasta. Buy chips for all and cook eggs and peas to go with them.
We all eat the same - I wouldn't do kids anything different. So if they want nuggets I would do that as a meal for the family - don't know if you can get gf nuggets?

When we go away we do a mixture of eating out, takeaways and simple meals like salads, jacket potatoes, pizza. I usually do a cooked breakfast twice in a week, but on last 2 cottage holidays we’ve had garden centre and farm shop with a cafe right next to us, so we go there. We also buy stuff for a sandwiches and a cream tea one day. I have cooked a roast dinner as that’s easy and doesn’t need too many ingredients, spag bol using jar sauce, sausage and mash. I get a supermarket delivery for main items, but usually only plan each day as it comes and it depends on what we are doing each day. We used to holiday with in laws all the time, everything was left to us, but they were happy going along with what we suggested and they enjoyed eating out, so that made it easier.
