What's your holiday drink of choice?

Thanks to a very successful packing thread last night I'm all packed and ready for our flight 2m. My nails are painted, suitcases are locked and weighed!

We're off to a Turkey in a 5 star All Inclusive Plus hotel (massive treat - honeymoon and 2 years holidays all rolled in)

My usual drink of choice is a G&T but I get 'acid tonic throat' after a couple

So - inspire me, what would you order?

Oh - I hate lager, wine and whiskey!

Rum and coke

Is it bad that I'm making a list?! 🤣

Gin / vodka with lemon Fanta may hit the spot!

Every holiday i try to wean myself onto lager, I'm always jealous of dh as it looks so refreshing!

I like to go mad on the drink of the country I'm in, then never drink it again - unless it's European wine...
What does Campari taste of? Fucking hairspray, that's what.

Miami vice. It's frozen pina colada and strawberry daiquiri swirled together.

You could try a lager top or shandy (with the aforementioned lemon Fanta) if you don't want full lager but want a long refreshing drink that you can have loads of without getting too pissed.

"Campari? That's never been on my list - what does it taste of?"

Vodka and orange by the pool, local beers (always nicer and cheaper than at home), local peach schnapps and lemonade, whatever cocktail they are offering. Used to like the knock off baileys towards the end of the evening but I’m vegan now so can’t have it this year, I will miss it!

Lager and lemon Fanta is FIRST on my list by the pool. I never usually bother during the day because hitting the shorts at lunch time ends in tragedy usually 🤣

I'm now panicking in case they don't have lemon Fanta!

Tequila Sunrise is fruity and refreshing but also nicely alcoholic. It also looks lovely in the glass. I had one last month in Greece on a whim ( must be 20 years since I last had one) and it went down a treat!

Plus a lot of diet coke and a peach flavour squash that was lovely.

If you are going to Spain they do a drink called damn limon which is essentially a very lemony shandy.

Now my list is so long!

I mean - we're taking ds so I can't get 18-30s trollied! 🙈🤣

How about shandy / radler? Germans drink loads of the stuff in the summer, so Turkish resort hotels will be familiar with the concept.

I've tried shandy and still not a massive fan - I think the lemon might swing it though

I'm desperate to do that long slow swig and the 'aaaaaaah' noise dh does. It translates as "relaxed holiday mode on" I'm sure!

I'm currently on a vodka and san pellegrino orange kick. It's different to fanta somehow, maybe a bit less fizzy?

But yeah, either gin or vodka with fizzy orange, fanta lemon or just lemonade.

If the weather is hot, nothing beats a freezing cold bottle of peroni, or corona with a wedge of lime.

Maybe a new drink a day could be a challenge? I love a pointless holiday challenge, like a different flavour of crisps each day or an ice cream flavour you've never had before..I live life on the edge

I'm also partial to a gin liqueur with soda water and lots of ice

A Long Vodka! Vodka, lime cordial, lemonade and a dash of angnostura bitters. So, so refreshing!

Not for round the pool but I definitely like a White Russian in the evening - vodka, Tia Maria and milk/cream. I love it, and definitely no chance of acid.
