We fixed last October so I’m expecting an horrendous jump this autumn but have no idea what people are currently being charged to fix now.

We pay £157 per month for a family of 5 living in a 4 bedroom, 3 reception room home plus hot tub (American make so well insulated to hold heat in North American type winters if that makes a difference).

Similar set up to you here (minus the hot tub) and we pay £210 on a standard rate tariff. Expecting this to jump to around the £300 mark in the autumn.

Haven't fixed as its too expensive. Currently using around £180 combined but paying £220/month DD. Monthly DD will not always reflect monthly usage so asking for the DD amount may not be helpful

we are currently in credit. Don’t they set the Dd to balance out over the winter?

£136 for electricity, £100 for oil, but I buy oil when I need to and when the price suits me.

4 bed old stone walled detached.

I'm lucky in that my gas is included in the rent... It's an old house over 3 floors, and it's been turned into 5 flats, the whole building shares 1 boiler. My electricity, for a spacious 2 bed flat is about £18 a month atm. I have no TV, no video games console, no kids, wfh and work laptop lasts for at least 5 hours without needing charging, and generally very careful with energy use. No lights on in rooms if not needed etc, I guess we're all like this now!! I have a pre-payment meter - seems odd that my electricity costs are only £4 a week though. Sandwiches for lunch! I guess it's just the fridge freezer, kettle, hob/ oven, lights, charging phone that I'm doing though. And I'd guess running big flat screen telly's for hours a day are a bit pricey?

If they change the boiler situation here, don't know what I'd do. On my wages, I'd have to turn to a life of crime to afford gas bills.

£60, 3 bed terrace. I live alone

ChuckBerrysBoots · 20/07/2022 00:48

Fixed last October for 2 years thank god, we’ll get a big shock next October unless something significant happens between now and then. Currently £100pm, 3bed semi, 2 adults, 2 kids, both of us mostly wfh

Namedwoolyhats · 20/07/2022 00:54

OP you need to triple it and add a bit more - so your new bill will be £450-500 pcm

Ingleduh · 20/07/2022 00:56

£170 (variable rate) combined for a small 3 bed semi, housing 2 adults and 2 kids.

Afterfire · 20/07/2022 00:59

4 people in a 3 bed semi- £260 a month octopus variable.

NewNormalLife · 20/07/2022 01:00

Our minimum direct debit allowed by Eon was set at £367pm a few months back for a 4 bed house. we don't even have a gas hob/fire. it's ridiculous. Our last house was a 2 bed and we paid £60pm for gas and electric combined.
