Anti-chaffing shorts -stupid question!

Dumb question but I bought some shorts from M&S last night to wear under dresses for work…….do you wear knickers under them as well?? They’re sold as lingerie but feel quite nylon to wear as pants.

I have some shorts type knickers from H&M -nylon type material but cotton gussets. I've been wearing them under shorter dresses and they work well to stop thigh chaffing

I absolutely love my Snag ones. They are tight material but I find them more breathable than cotton shorts, they don't feel as heavy.

I'm 5'3, size 14-16 and wear size E.

I've got the m and s ones and I don't wear anything underneath. I was worried about them not being cotton but I wore them yesterday in the heat and they were great. They don't get damp like cotton does I think they are actually more breathable.

I bought snag ones a few weeks ago. No underwear (thought it might make them hot) and am very comfortable without. My shorts a perhaps a size larger than needed as they don't feel very stretched and I have bright darker colours so not see through either.

I really rate Shorties from Lady B Loves, as being better then Snag ones.

Is it possible to get cotton ones? I bought some underwear type ones, but they make me so hot because they’re nylon type material - I couldn’t imagine wearing knickers under some as well!

I got Ladies Safety Boxer Shorts Cotton Anti Chafing Long Leg Knickers Underwear Women's Boy Shorts Leggings for Under Dresses Multipack amzn.eu/d/dUvXezI these ones from Amazon & they're like cotton knickers- so I don't wear knickers underneath. I prefer to wear a reusable knicker liner generally but you can't with these - I may have to buy some disposables just for holiday.

Big Bloomers ones are the best! I don't wear knickers with them. I really regret the Snag ones which are just tights so feel really hot to me.

Goldpaw · 19/07/2022 13:31

I bought Snag ones and found they're okay in medium heat but since they're actually tights they are really sweaty and uncomfortable when it gets really warm. I also got a really nasty sweat rash when wearing them. I wanted something I could wear instead of knickers so wearing knickers then Snags defeats the purpose. I've now decided to look out a pattern and buy a length of jersey cotton to make my own long legged knickers.

Do they not fray and ride up without a cuff round the bottom?

Nope! Thought they would but never had any fraying or riding up. I even went out in them for my evening walk last night 😄 no riding up at all and I’m a size 18. Just look like cycling shorts.

Lookingoutside · 19/07/2022 13:37

Try M&S cotton with cool comfort cycling shorts. They’re 79% cotton and the gusset is 100% cotton.

They’re 4 for 3 at £8 each.

(Been doing so for years by the way so well and truly tested)
