Regular family health maintenance

Ok the back of our first time with worms as a family, I've now decided that we will move forward with regular deworming, especially given that DD will start nursery this year. This got me thinking, what else do you all do as part of a regular schedule? Not including things like vaccinations etc as those have specific timings that are clearly set out.

You are overthinking it. You don't need to regularly deworm kids.

Pickanameforme · 18/07/2022 23:12

Honestly I think the heat is probably getting to you. I can't think of anything you need to do.

Yumchips · 18/07/2022 23:24

Ok - looks like I can scrap this idea!

Never had worms and in 14 years of school, my kids had nits once each

LaPerduta · 19/07/2022 06:47

Sorry but "move forward with regular deworming" sounds like some sort of weird manifesto. 😃

What I would say is that having a spare bottle of the worm treatment in your cupboard is a help when you realise post bath that the kids are itching their bums and probably have worms. Stops a panic trip to the local pharmacy!

That said, three lots of worm over 75 months of child-rearing. Probably not worth a scheduled de-worming.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 19/07/2022 06:55

Oh yes we've de-wormed once and my kids are teenage now. Same with nits - DD got them in secondary school and passed them to her sister. Managed to make it all through primary without a bout. I do keep a spare headrin at home.

Maybe just check the family bottoms once a month? 😁

Definitely overthinking this. I've three children, we've had worms once in 14 years. Would be pretty expensive to have pointless monthly treatments!
