At what temperature would humans just start to die?

You don't know that and in any case our children will still be here.

But you ve summed up why we have done nothing to limit temperature rises.

Surely a great many of deaths caused by the heat are those of older unwell people who have problems with their heart/circulation/respiratory system and their bodies aren't working efficiently due to their age.

At 50degrees I think life for all of us would be very difficult. I despair of the consumerism, greed for 'stuff' and cavalier attitudes to world resources and pollution that cause deep problems for mankind. I don't think we are clever at all.
