Last Summer I was visiting family abroad for 5 weeks and most days were between 30-40 degree and I went out running nearly every day ( between 5-12kms)! Lots of others out running too so I didn't look crazy 😜 !

I feel like I will get strange looks running tonight after dinner here in south west London .

Any other runners like me ?

I ran at half eight this morning but it was cloudy and quite cool. (South west)

It warmed up as I was going but I had a drink and it was fine (only did 5k).

I’ve just got back from a Zumba class though and that was hot but not unmanageable with icy drink s and breaks. It was 33 as I was driving there.

I ran this morning straight after dropping kids at school. It was OK.

For a short run. My planned long run tomorrow is getting sacked off, I'll do it Wednesday instead.

@Iamanunsafebuilding it was lovely. Breezy on the mountain. Elevation makes a difference

Haudyourwheesht · 18/07/2022 20:26

I'm not bothering tomorrow as it's forecast to be 20 degrees at 8 when I'm leaving kids at nursery. It'll be colder again soon.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one!!

I did 5kms at 7pm . My weather app said it was 35 degrees but it felt a bit cooler . I honestly felt fine but I was running pretty slowly and pouring water over my head to cool down .

10 years ago I was training for my first marathon and my long run fell on a 35 degree day . I have no idea how I had the motivation but I went out at 4am and ran 32kms!!

I went fir a 5k at 6am. Very breezy! It wasn’t too warm

NCHammer2022 · 19/07/2022 07:05

I would in the morning (pre 7am). I wouldn’t in the evening as it hasn’t been getting cooler until well into the small hours. I do feel the heat a lot though.

Bringonsummer19 · 19/07/2022 07:07

Yeap 100%

PurpleDaisies · 19/07/2022 07:10

I did yesterday morning but it’s worse today. Swim instead here.

riesenrad · 19/07/2022 11:25

No. I went swimming yesterday and will go for a walk this evening when it's cooler.

Horriblewoman · 19/07/2022 11:26

I love a hot run! Went out at 10pm in London last night and will probably go out this evening too.

Coughee · 19/07/2022 11:29

Well done! I hate running in any kind of heat. No amount of cold or rain ever puts me off but heat always does. I'd usually get up early if I wanted to run when it's hot.

Sartre · 19/07/2022 11:49

Yep I went this morning at 7:30 am and it was fine, actually a slight breeze which helped. I wouldn’t go any later in the day, absolutely bonkers to run when it’s over 30 degrees never mind 40! We’re not acclimatised to it so it’s dangerous.

xsquared · 19/07/2022 12:11

I went out at 6am yesterday to do an hour's track session. No way would I have done it any later than 8am.

I'm going out again tomorrow at 6am for a chilled chatty run and again at 7pm for a club mile race. 18°C and 16°C respectively ar those times, so not too hot.
