What’s your average daily spend on your smart meter?

Our gas isn’t currently hooked up to the smart meter (don’t ask, I can’t tell you how many emails have gone back and forth and still it’s not working 🙄) so this isn’t going to be entirely accurate, but we currently use a lot more energy than the national average, Uswitch have given us a C rating so it’s obviously quite a lot more and I’m just not sure why

Our smart meter is here for showing around £3.50 per day for electricity, what do all yours say?

Also any tips to reduce we may not have thought of? Our bill has just gone up again to nearly £400pcm and we just can not afford that at all!

£2-3 a day, on the current price cap variable rate. That's for 2 people in a 2 bed property, all electric no gas, no dishwasher, no tumble drier. In winter it will be at least double that when we have the electric heaters on.

Today I spent around 80p, with just standard use (cooker, kettle, hot water for showering/ washing up) - over 60p of which are standing charges (combined tariff).

BUT I have solar panels, so my daytime use is standing charges only.

New house and I can make things more efficient still (the idiots who lived here beforehand were, among many other things, still using standard 50-60W bulbs, which I am slowly replacing).

Our kettle alone is 70phr when it's on.

A shower costs £1.50 for 4.5 mins! (I shower daily)

When cooking the smart meter is often showing £2 per hour. Angry

45 and 100p per day.

Average £2 per day but it could be a lot cheaper if I didn't have chronic health problems but Its not doing too bad - I'm describing this all out and making a note for future to come back and review,

My house is all electric, no options for gas in the area or wood burners

So for yesterday that includes
** 3 x 15-minute showers as Im currently struggling with a lot of spasms and this helps - electric shower
** 1 dishwasher load
** 2 wash loads / 6 spin cycles / 6 cycles in the tumble dryer (thank you bladder and bowel)
** Charging up my phone / tablet / laptop / electric hot water bottle
** Keeping my heated throw warm for after showers and sleeping
** Fan oven was on for 1 hour - making dinner
** Airfryer was on for 30 mins
** Kettle boiled numerous times/toaster on in the evening
** It also runs my router, 8 security cameras, robot vacuum, and doorbells - so standby mode
** TV was on during the day in the living room and bedroom in the evening
** Alexa dots in all rooms x 6 - standby mode
