Baby Vaccine side effects

First Post and first baby so I apologise if this is not the right place.

My LO had his 2nd vaccines on Thursday and I'm a little worried about a rash that has developed. The out of hours GP line is down, I'm in Northern ireland so can't use 111 and the A&E over here is ridiculous for wait times. He had a similar reaction first time but this looks a little more aggressive. The first time it happened I called out of hours GP (who were great) and they asked me the expected questions and then said to keep an eye and if it got worse, to call again or see GP the following day.

The rash is located from his nipple line down to around his belly button. He has absolutely no other symptoms other that this. It's a bumpy rash almost like a heat rash and I'd be confident it's a reaction to the vaccines.

Hes as bubbly as ever and it probably doesn't help that we are in a heatwave and it being 28° today.

Has anyone had a similar reaction to the vaccines?

Mine didn't react like that but I think I remember being told it was a possibility. Babies deal with vaccines differently and maybe this is just the way yours reacts. Is it bothering him at all? I'd just keep him cool and out of the sun. I take it no fever or anything?

Thank you so much for the reply.

It's not bothering him one bit. It looked a lot worse about 30mins ago but is back to how it was this morning. His eating, sleeping and nappies are the same.

I've tried reading up on side effects and I'm sure it is but would be nice to speak to a GP to ease my mind.

I called another number and they've told me the out of hours number is down and hope to have it fixed soon. Crazy in 2022 to have a single point of failure for something so important.

I'm in NI too so know how it is unfortunately! 🙄

I don't think I would bother the GP about this if he's otherwise fine and acting normally. It's a listed side effect of the vaccines so I don't think you need to be unduly worried, but I remember panicking over every little thing with my first so totally get where you're coming from!

You might have more luck speaking to a pharmacist tomorrow if it gets worse. They're very knowledgeable.

To me this looks like a viral rash tbh.

Throughout the whole pregnancy and up until now, we've been very lucky with the care needed. We didn't visit the hospital (altnagelvin) once and only called out of hours since he was born 1 time about this rash.

The line being down made me more anxious and I'm sure if I spoke with a GP, they'd tell me it's nothing to worry about

I'm pretty sure that's what they said when I called last time.
