Bastard recalcitrant overlocker

I have a love/hate relationship with my toyota overlocker. I broke a needle and managed to get another one in but since then it only sews with 3 not 4 threads. I've checked threading on a you tube video (book is inconprehensible and the diagram on the machine is only for Borrowers).

any hints to resolve this.
posting for traffic and can't find a sewing section.

Okie doke. I will fiddle with the tension, all four of them. 😁

God speed 😂

I flirt with the idea of buying an over locker roughly 8-10 times a year.

This is exactly why I still don't own one.

Pinking shears and zig zag stitch will do me.

I admire your tenacity op and use of the word recalcitrant.

I am going to bring mine down from the attic and give it another chance.

I can highly recommend going on a 'know your overlocker' type course. Went on one at Lady Sew & Sew in Henley, years ago - not sure if they still do them, but the sort of thing where you take along your own machine and the overlocker expert (I think she was called Jill) explains how the thing works, how to adjust to get different things happening and so on, and how to sew different types of fabrics and get different effects (incl lettuce hem).

I will admit before then I was just frightened of the darned thing. Now I'm happy to change needles or adjust tension etc for the fabric, and if I need to re-thread I know exactly how to do it.
