Mooncup, swimming

My Mooncup fills with water when I swim, is this what happens to everyone? I empty it before swimming and afterwards it's full of water... Bloodstained. If I wear a tampon swimming it gets soaked too, any suggestions? Is this a poor pelvic floor?

I’ve got quite a weak pelvic floor but I don’t get water in my mooncup when I’m swimming. I swim front crawl and do 20 lengths each swim so only in pool for about 20 mins.

I have heard breast stroke can make water go inside you especially after you’ve had a baby. You may find this thread from a couple of years ago interesting.

Sounds like you're not twisting it after you insert it to seal it.

Yes, happens to me too if doing the frog stroke. Vigorously kicking the legs out/lower half contortion causes the cup to briefly unseal and that's how water gets in. I can totally avoid it by swimming with legs held together. I don't think it's pelvic weakness, perhaps just an anatomical quirk that maybe not everyone has, or perhaps very strong vaginal muscle.

I typically sleep with one leg very high up (like an extreme recovery position) but not when wearing a mooncup, as the position causes it to unseal - again, I assume this is because the contortion changes the shape of the vagina.

I get it with a tampon (I don't get how people manage, surely water soaks up the string) but not a mooncup. Although I'm not a vigorous swimmer.
I'd test whether it's caused by being in the water or swimming (by going and not swimming). Then maybe consider a different size/shape/firmness, some brands do sporty ones for instance.

Thank you for the suggestions, I gave it a real twist this morning, not swimming today but I'm going to test by sitting the bath, although no leg kicks to challenge it in there!

You just need to give it half a turn once it's opened up, should be ok then.

You could try removing the cup for swimming and using period swimwear instead?
