Legoland. Extra day or reserve and ride

Planning on going to Legoland for DS birthday. He will be turning 8 and his brother will be almost 5 when we go.

We are toying with options at the moment.

We can go for one day pay £100 extra (😱) for the reserve and ride passes for the day. I gather this means we won't have to queue really which would be good as my boys are v wriggly and not good at staying still.

BUT remarkably it's cheaper to go for two days and go without the reserve and ride. We have family near by to stay with. We'd be able to take our time a bit more which would be nice but the pay off would be queueing for the rides.

We are going to go mid October so not in the summer holidays, but still a weekend. Anyone have any experience of visiting around then?

The added complication is that DS is only just starting school and I can't help thinking he will be exhausted if we do two days. I think for him one day would be best as he could then fully rest on Sunday before school on Monday. He'll have only really just started as his first full week is the last week of September and he's only ever done 3 mornings at nursery before. I am DREADING how tired he's going to be anyway even without a Legoland trip. But we can't leave him behind!

So, is reserve and ride worth £100? Or are we best of with two days?

Do you really want to spend two days there?

I don't know.... That's what I'm asking!

Can we do it all in one day with the reserve and ride (or even without?!) Or are we just going to be queueing all day?

They are huge huge Lego fans and I don't want to rush them around or feel like we haven't seen it because we were stuck in queues.

100% reserve and ride! The queues are mental otherwise

We went to Legoland Biland last October, no queues and we went over two days. There's quiet lego building rooms, an aquarium, films...you don't have to just do rides. Don't think buying a reserve and ride would be worth it.
Wonder if you mean Windsor which might be more frenetic, and it depends how into it your kid is.

Definitely one day with reserve and ride.

Yes we mean Windsor. Would love to do Billund but it's too much!

Is mid October just before half term going to be very busy?

I’d do one day with reserve and ride. Your 5 yo will have a better time.

in mid Oct I think the main argument for 2 days is in case it pours with rain. As long as it doesn't, I agree 1 day with fast passes is probably better value, but if it does then I'd pick 2 days - queues are short anyway in the rain, and there's more chance of catching a dry spell. Obviously not something you can predict, but something to weigh up.
