It's a lovely day, had plans but I've tested positive

Just feeling sorry for myself really. I was meant to be having a rare (no kids) day out with my hubby today and I've now got covid. Gutted.

If you feel fine then you can still go out as planned. Covid is supposed to be treated as a cold now and continue going to work etc

I mean you could do this, but I'd make sure the babysitters are happy to go ahead

Will the kids still go to the baby sitters? If so, you could have an at home date day if you're not feeling too poorly. If they are home you could make it a special day at home, maybe treat food, games etc.

My husband tested positive the day of my daughters birthday, absolutely gutted but we did pay for the birthday meal out with her friends and then did something a few weeks later (once I was negative as he passed it on to me).

I'm having a weird one, I tested as feeling tired and snuffily and my tests show positive first then the line disappears so I have no idea what that means but I've stayed home just in case since.

I thought the advice was to stay at home for 5 days?

MintJulia · 16/07/2022 09:55

Take a picnic and walk in the woods. Cool, plenty of shade, fresh air so no risk to anyone else, time alone together.

ByeByeMr · 16/07/2022 09:56

It's a large event with lots of people plus we were meeting friends so don't want to spread it. Still feeling a bit rough but OK.

I have a faint positive today also, what a pain.

Do this instead or home date providing the babysitter is happy too. Gutted you will miss the event but make the most of the sunshine and being together

Just feels like a mild cold here, did feel quite tired yesterday though. DH had it mildly last week

TheFridayRabbit · 16/07/2022 09:58

Sorry to hear this, how disappointing. Good for you for doing the right thing. I hope it’s a very mild dose for you.

That's not actually the case at all. You are supposed to act sensibly, isolate for five days if you can and avoid vulnerable people.

Sounds sensible then. Do you have deliveroo? Could order yourself a nice lunch?

Take care

AhaLyn · 16/07/2022 10:42

Don’t listen to the poster that says it’s fine to go out and spread it. I am fairly young and in good health and had my first positive this week ever and it’s been horrendous; diarrhoea, chills, vision issues and breathlessness I think it must be one of the new variants. It will be different for everyone but I really think a lot of people won’t want this one multiple times.

Hope you feel not too bad with it.

What the fuck.

Such ill informed ignorance it’s astonishing.
