Anyone's DC due to go on something like this? School hasn't commented. Is it sensible?!

The heat warning says increased risk of death for healthy people so our school does not want to put staff at risk, or students. A trip is an intense and exhausting experience for staff on a normal day, let alone such a dangerously and unusually hot one.

it’s quite incredible how ppl are so dismissive and think you’re over reacting! Having spent several years in a hot country I know how serious this is. We are just as clueless dealing with extreme heat in this country as desert dwellers would be if they were facing a freak snowstorm!

My sons gone alton towers today with school hope everything goes OK. Can imagine it being awful just on the coach back. Told him to drink plenty and try to get in shade as much as possible. He said the teachers will be at the main gates all day if they are needed. When the trips where booked no one knew the weather was going to be like this. Still worried about it.

How did it go?

Im due to take 30+ kids on a trip tomorrow in 31 degree heat and stressing out! It's a seaside town too, so panicking. Will take extra water and suncream and spare hats, but its open air!!! Every other similar venue has closed apart from this one and they took great pleasure in sharing how great they are on our local news this evening!!! Dreading it 😪
