Dogs and running in this weather, what temperature is okay?

I run with my dog a lot, not very far just a couple of miles.

I've obviously not been doing it during the heatwave. She's a husky/mal cross.

It's a bit cooler now, I've just come back from running alone and I've seen two people with similar types of dogs running with them, plenty more walking them.

It's 17 degrees here now, obviously will drop in the evening (to 11 degrees according to my Alexa).

What temperature would you personally think was okay to take this type of dog running? Could I take her this evening? I've been careful during this heat, but also if I am being over cautious, she's extremely giddy due to lack of walks and obviously getting a bit bored.

I'd say at around 18 degrees I'd stop running with a dog of that breed (built for the cold) and using this as a guide.
Running will obviously cause them to overheat faster than a gentle walk so I'd definitely not be doing it in direct sun with the temperatures like they've been at the moment. If it drops cool in the evening it might be safe. Ultimately have to use your judgement and don't forget to check that the pavement feels cool enough with a palm against it for 10 seconds too 😊

I’ve a border collie, who absolutely adores to run, however in this heat, we have adjusted his walking times. I’ll take him out for a run about 4:30/5 am. He will have a mad half or 3/4 hour chasing a ball, or herding the crows. Then it’s on with the lead for a sniff walk through the woods. During the day we just go for comfort breaks. And late evening about 9pm we go got another run and long walk. I always take drinking water for him with me, especially after a run.

18 degrees for my collie. He really doesn't deal well with heat. I take him swimming instead when it's hot, he loves chasing his ball in the river

Thanks all. I'll take her this evening I thunk. She was like a dog on hot bricks this morning jumping around everywhere. I work nights and find if i take her immediately upon finishing (7am) it's usually fine but by the time we are back the heat is beginning to kick in.
Thanks for the diagram too :)
