Weird things happening after someone dies

Has this happened to you?

I have unfortunately just lost a relative and their partner found their kitchen clock stopped the same time they died.

My grandad died earlier this year and all that week my daughter's toys kept going off on their own and the nightlight was flashing on and off (it's touch sensitive).

I do find it comforting but I feel weird about it all!

In the week after my dad died the smoke alarms kept going off in their house for no reason. My mum got an electrician out to check the wiring, after that it stopped apart from the one in the room which was his office still did a few times and was the last to stop doing it.
I thought it was odd and that it could be him.

Not exactly a happening, but after my lovely MiL died I felt her presence very strongly in our house - I could almost ‘see’ her sitting on the sofa.

Of course I put it down entirely to my imagination, so when my father died only 6 months later, I fully expected to ‘sense’ the same, either at home or at DM’s house.
But there was nothing. Zilch.

My grandad died around Christmas time after a battle with cancer. His watch stopped at the time he died.
4 years later , my nana his wife also died around Christmas time. Her watch also stopped at the time she died.
Both watches stopped at 4:20 pm

About 15 years ago my grandad died on Christmas Day, he was found stretched out on his sofa like he was taking a nap with his teeth out!
A few days later I was in my lounge and the floor standing lamp which was on started to glow really brightly like a power surge and it popped. No other lights or electrical items were affected. So I changed the bulb and the same thing happened - a slow flickering then a surge of power til it pops. I changed the bulb again and as it started to surge again I said it’s ok grandad I know it’s you but can you please stop! It did stop.
a few weeks later I was going through some Christmas cards and I found the one from him saying happy Christmas and that he will visit me early in the new year. I took huge comfort in that as when I was growing up I felt like he was the one who truly loved me and was so happy to spend time with me I loved him so much.

At my 18th birthday party many many moons ago l took a picture of my grandparents and it just looked like love, they where looking into each other’s eyes and laughing, my dad loved the picture so much l had got him a copy too. My grandad died a few years before my grandma. On the day my grandma died l was at my dads house and the picture had moved from the fireplace to the window ledge, it had been in the same place for many years so l had sort of become blind to it, So it was like l hadn’t seen it in years and my grandad was kissing my grandma on the cheek l was a bit shocked looked away and when l looked back it was back to how l remembered it. I checked mine when l got home.

They both came to visit me in my in my new home a dream.

When my DM died suddenly, just got in from the hospital and was sitting on the sofa. Next minute felt a soft wind blow by me (as if someone was walking and you get that wee gush of air) no windows were open and a feeling of a cold hand on my cheek. I like to think it was her

A lot of weird things happened that week. A few days later I fell asleep (again on the sofa) and heard my phone ringing, looked at it and it was my DM calling. Picked it up and there was this crackling sound as if the signal was bad and then my DM's voice saying "darling are you ok?" Totally freaked, put the phone down and woke up. It felt so real and vivid

This thread is lovely.

This might be a bit outing but here goes!

I was working on the ward one day and the loveliest elderly lady asked if she could sing for me. The song she chose was ‘One Song’ from Snow White, which my beloved late Nanny used to sing to me when I was little. It choked me up and I couldn’t help but quietly cry until she’d finished, it was just beautiful and not really the usual choice for a sing-song.

Later that day, I rang my Mum and told her about it, she didn’t speak for a few seconds and then said she’d decided on a whim to visit a friend in the street my grandparents used to live in and popped by their old house afterwards, the new owners remembered her from when my grandparents moved out as we’d helped them move so they welcomed her in and she went out to the garden, my Nanny’s Snow White ornaments were still out there 15 years later and they said they’d kept them all this time because they felt like they belonged there. My Mum picked up an ornament and held it for a moment, I asked her what time she was there and it was the exact time the lady had sung to me. I think my Nanny paid us both a little visit that day. ❤️

This is pure coincidence but I dreamt that Amy Winehouse died about 2 weeks before she actually did. I liked a couple of her songs but I wouldn't have said I was a massive fan.

I also dreamt about Stuart Baggs 'The Brand' from the Apprentice dying, once again he died a few weeks later. I'd seen him on the show but again I wasn't an avid fan

Another one, DP’s Grandad died very suddenly and we had to sort out his will etc., things kept breaking in his house and one day, the water pipe in the kitchen snapped in half. As I was fixing it, I smelt the strongest whiff of cigarette smoke and heard tuneless whistling (he was a heavy smoker and prolific whistler!), I like to think he came to help me fix the pipe 😁

His cat also now lives with us and sometimes I smell cigarette smoke on her (she doesn’t go further than the garden and neither DP nor I smoke), maybe he comes to give her a cuddle.

Another one from him: we had an awful storm and the greenhouse collapsed, went outside to assess the damage and found the greenhouse completely obliterated, apart from where two panes of glass had fallen to form a kind of canopy above his tomato plants, leaving them completely unscathed. He loved those tomatoes!

My grandad's watch also stopped when he died :(

I remember seeing magpies everywhere the day Prince Philip died, and on the day of his funeral. It was only when I listened to the coverage later that I realised his Royal Navy regiment were called the Magpies.

My Dad sadly died in 2010.
The evening after the night he died, after I'd got home from my parent's house (where he'd passed away), I went to call my Mum on my mobile phone. After pressing her name & then call, all I heard down the phone, was the sound of a landline phone ringing in the background and a voice I seemed to recognise, saying "Yep, and where's it going to please? Ok it'll be about ten minutes if that's ok? Great. Your phone will ring when he's outside. Thanks very much" - It was the voice of the operator who worked in the office of the Taxi company who my Dad drove for, for years.

I've never, ever had a crossed line on a mobile phone before or since this occurrence. Simply because mobiles don't work in the same way landlines do, of course. So it utterly baffled me how this had happened. It was as if I'd somehow called somebody who was stood in the office, holding their phone up so I could hear what was going on?! Only I hadn't. As I vividly remember selecting 'Mum' from my call history......
