What age is Disneyland suitable for?

Obviously I’m expecting a lot of “its fun for the whole family” but realistically what age DC are too old. I’ve looked at all the rides at DL Paris and the majority of them are aimed at younger kids. With the Indians jones ride being the only scary rollercoaster which seems to be the only ride for teens/adults. Is it still enjoyable for them? Or should I be looking at other holiday destinations?

We went as a group with kids as young as 3, and some as old as 12 and they all had a great time. Hyper Space Mountain, big Thunder Mountain, Tower of Terror and RC racer were all firm favourites of the older ones.

Everyone loved it. No complaints at all.

i was 40 when i went to disney paris and thoroughly enjoyed it, theres a lot of rides that adults will be fine on
space mountain, big thunder railroad, whatever tower of terrors called now

Blaggingit123 · 13/07/2022 13:31

Not sure what you mean as the only ride for adults? Hyperspace mountain is a big rollercoaster with multiple inversions, if you’re going by height restrictions then a lot of modern rollercoasters tend to be lower these days due to different styles of harness. There are 5 proper roller coasters I think and none of those are what I’d call ‘tame’ though only 2 go upside down. Then loads of dark rides which some small children would find too scary but equally appealing for adults and older kids (pirates of the Caribbean, star tours, tower of terror, ratatouille etc etc etc). Then there are some rides which are aimed at everyone like it’s a small world, carousel, teacups etc. it’s for everyone really but if you don’t like Disney then obviously it’s not your cup of tea!

Well as an adult i really enjoy the rides but i think it more depends if you like Disney etc otherwise wouldn't say was worth it.

We took DD at 13/14 and she didn’t particularly enjoy it. Much preferred Universal Studios and PortAventura

Floralnomad · 13/07/2022 14:07

Anyone of any age that likes Disney will enjoy it , if they aren’t Disney fans then I’d give it a miss .

Stressybetty · 13/07/2022 14:11

Took DD at age 8 and she loved it. Stayed in the hotel Cheyenne I think. This was 20 years though!

gogohmm · 13/07/2022 14:12

My DD's asked to go again at 14&15, they loved it, they have asked to go again, they are adults, I've told them to take themselves!

LadyDanburysCane · 13/07/2022 14:21

Last time we took our “children” they were 22 and 17 years old! We all had a great time. Thinking of taking them again for Christmas (they’ll be 24 and 19).

FixItUpChappie · 13/07/2022 14:41

I don't see how you can be too old. I've been as a uni student with friends and as an adult without children and had a great time on everything. Always good to encourage being young at heart.

Disneyland Paris - just taken my 14-16 yr old girls and they loved it.

Saw a large party of guides and scouts.

But then we love Disney

lalaloopyhead · 13/07/2022 14:48

We have been 3 times over a 4 year period, I think we enjoyed it more once youngest was a bit older - I think she was 7 the first time we went so I wouldn't say it is aimed at tiny children. The last time we went they were 11, 17 and 19 and we had a great time. The youngest is now 14 and its frequently talked about and I think we would all really love to go again.

Dobbysgotthesocks · 13/07/2022 14:50

You are never too old for Disney!!!

HereIAmBrainTheSizeOfAPlanet · 13/07/2022 14:52

Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain and Tower of Terror are adult rides too.
The Rock N Rollercoaster has been rebranded and is opening soon in a new Marvel themed area. That is an adult ride as well.

Can you not just ask them if they want to go?

If they're just interested in thrill rides, Alton Towers might be more fun. Or PortAventura if you want a holiday abroad.

NightsinBlueSatin · 13/07/2022 14:57

I live next door to Disneyland, there is plenty of stuff for older kids, I even went with my sister in our 20s and we had a great time. You're also missing the Studios which is the park next door which has the Tower of Terror and Crush's coaster - fabulous rides!

NatM15588 · 13/07/2022 15:00

Im just back from Disneyland with my family and there a few rides that are definetly not for small children! Indiana jones, hyperspace mountain, thunder mountain, tower of terror, rc racer and crushes coaster were one I wouldnt let my 5yr old on only me, my sister and 18yr old niece done those ones.
