Wake up feeling sick most mornings

It’s driving me mad. As soon as I wake up I just feel so sick to the point where I feel like I’m going to throw up. This morning I had to come downstairs early as lying down was making me feel worse. I stop feeling sick around an hour or 2 after being up. It’s been going on too often for it to be a bug or food poisoning. Not pregnant either

Could it be premenstrual? (I get that,
even if not pregnant) rising progesterone?
could it be the heat (dehydration?)
could it be from having a glass of wine night before + the heat? (Heat makes our alcohol responses change)

Otherwise worth a GP visit I would say.

Are you dieting? I only feel like this if I haven't eaten enough the day before. I have to force food down even though I feel really sick

@Ridingthegravytrain yes! That’s another one.
dieting when you’re drinking loads of green tea as well, that’s a sure nausea trigger

JennyForeigner · 13/07/2022 07:15

Blood sugar/hormones. I started getting this when I had twins and it never really went away. Eat some carbs as quick as you can and it should go.

DFOD · 13/07/2022 07:15

Could it be anxiety - is there anything worrying you (possibly subconsciously) that you are repressing?

RooRem2 · 13/07/2022 07:17

@anotherscroller I don’t think it’s any of them. I have recently started dieting and I am eating a lot, lot less than I used to. I have my dinner around 6 o’clock then nothing else. Maybe I need to start eating more or having my dinner a bit later?

@Ridingthegravytrain yes you could be right! Was just typing that as you posted😁
@JennyForeigner thank you I will try that
@DFOD I suffer a lot with general anxiety, I’m currently having cbt for it

Try having a banana or a cracker as soon as you wake up then, to see if it’s a blood sugar thing. Otherwise, checkup.

stairgates · 13/07/2022 07:25

Check your bed is level and not tilting you slightly the wrong way as the stomach acid leaks out

RooRem2 · 13/07/2022 07:26

@anotherscroller thank you, I’ll try that and see if it helps, if not I’ll phone my gp

I’ve also noticed that when the sickness goes away I start to feel a bit hungry

I wondered about stomach acid. I know you're dieting, but might be worth having a couple of crispbreads or low calorie crackers late at night.

I came on to say this.
I have too much stomach acid and when my stomach is empty, I get really nauseous. I never let myself go hungry through fear of throwing up.

PaperTyger · 13/07/2022 09:33

I get this and wondered if it was related to needing the loo?
