I don't trust Rishi Sunak.

I know a lot of people are looking at him starry eyed but the guy gives me the creeps, he thinks he's better than us commoners, has put this country and it's people jn jeopardy with his bad choices with money. Although I don't like Boris I don't like how Rishi backstabbed him and now wants to be PM. We can't trust this man. What a fake and who can forget how he said he felt like will smith when he had to defend his wife.

How is that any different to the others in the past and the other candidates? The other ones on the tax cuts and outdoing each other is not exactly practical either

Sparklybutold · 12/07/2022 13:19

He's literally a carbon copy of boris.

BlueKaftan · 12/07/2022 13:47

He did the best he could do with a bad situation. No one knew how the pandemic would turn out. And if anyone has ever deserved a backstabbing, it’s Boris. Sunak and Javid quite rightly have their own ambitions and careers to consider. And Boris completely fucked most of his cabinet by being so sleazy. I would like to see Sunak as the next PM.

Doubtful I would vote conservative but tbh I trust sunak probably more than the other candidates. The rest between them have dodgy tax affairs, mad super right-wing views, admiration for Oscar pistorius, twaw views, plan to break international law, where should I stop? Not quite sure what Javid thinks about anything or clean start Tom, but the rest of them, even Kemi and her small state sound crazed and dangerous

Damnautocorrect · 12/07/2022 14:48

god no.
he seems better than the others in the race (this is truly no endorsement)
and I think he’ll get it.

CalistoNoSolo · 12/07/2022 14:55

He's awful and he creeps me out too. He will be as bad as Johnson in his own way. I also disagree that he did a good job during the pandemic. He lost billions by not having the correct checks in place, and gave further billions to the already wealthy. He was also fined for breaking lock down and he is so ridiculously rich that he cannot possibly have any idea how inflation and wage stagnation is affecting us all. Plus, he publicly stood by that other uber-creep Johnson despite Johnson being the most appalling PM in the world ever.

SunnyKlara · 12/07/2022 14:58

His resignation letter literally said he was fed up of lying for Boris. So he has lied convincingly for years, by his own admission. Why would anyone trust him to behave any differently if me became PM? It would just be lying for himself instead.

Fladdermus · 12/07/2022 15:03

I don't trust any of them. They are all liars who will say anything to get the top job, they've proven that by propping up Johnson. None of them give a shit about the country or the people, they're just in it for what they can get.

Dogtooth · 12/07/2022 15:11

Why would you trust any of them? The fundamental lie is that Brexit is good for the UK - it's harming us and none of them are prepared to stand up and say so. Everything else stems from that, none of them believe what they're saying, it's all a hall of mirrors.

balalake · 12/07/2022 15:12

I trust him. My view is that whilst he comes across as articulate and presentable, his track record shows him to be not very good. Lacks understanding of business in my opinion, made a number of bad mistakes during the pandemic, and putting up National Insurance instead of income tax harms people on low incomes.

Pocolovo · 12/07/2022 15:14

They are all low life scum. every last one of them!

CharlotteOH · 12/07/2022 15:53

He’s too stupid for the job. Rishi looked at the pandemic in 2020, and at how many were struggling financially, and his first thought was “What this country really needs is to find the people who can still afford to eat out and pay them from taxpayers money to do so, but only if they crowd into restaurants over the same couple of days of the week, so they’re all passing germs around as much as possible.

“Eat Out To Help Out” was:

  1. directly responsible for a rise in covid deaths;

  2. immoral, it gave money to those already wealthy enough to eat out while ignoring those struggling to buy food; and

  3. incredibly stupid in that it didn’t apply to takeaways, which would have supported restaurants without spreading germs.

I see you, Rishi, and I remember.

We’ve already had one PM who thought a posh suit made up for too little brains. Can we PLEASE have a clever PM next time?? Or at least someone semi-competent? Big ask I know 😕

I don't think he can win an election because of his close alignment with Johnson for so long and his wife's tax affairs, although memories are short and he has plenty of electable qualities. Although being electable doesn't mean he'll be any good, as we know to our cost.

I trust him more than most of the others (which isn't saying much, admittedly). At least he's being honest about the state of the exconomy and taxation.

takeitandleaveit · 12/07/2022 16:03

I'm not entirely sure I do either.

See I also thought he was being honest about state of our economics.

However the last few days I've began to think it's so he can fuck the poorest over even more like a true Tory and blame covid and Johnson.

Yep, every word of this.
