If you've had mastectomy and reconstruction, what can I do for someone at hospital/afterwards?

Just that, really. Friend is having mastectomy/reconstruction and will be in hospital for a week and then recuperate before treatment (radiation/chemo). What can I take to hospital or do for her there or afterwards? Just wanted some ideas so that I can be of use

Are you any good at sewing? If so there are loads of patterns on the internet for under the arm heart shaped cushions and drain bags.

I'm terrible at sewing! But that's a very sweet idea.

Does she have someone to help look after her at home?

Ive no experience with mastectomies/reconstructive surgery but I would have thought anything that helps someone recovering from surgery would be received well. So maybe cook some meals to take round, offer to do a supermarket shop when she gets out of hospital, help with laundry? If she’s on her own maybe offering to change her sheets (that was the thing I struggled with for a while after surgery, and the nights are sweaty at the moment!).
