Chlorine for paddling pool?

We have a medium size paddling pool which takes around an hour to fill. I hate wasting water so the water is usually in for a few days, covered at night and topped up with fresh when it drops a bit. I noticed this morning it's a little cloudy (been up since Sat morning) - do I need chlorine of some sort? It's just for me to float about in so no risk of kids swallowing water or anything. Never occurred to me before so this may well be a really stupid question!

Yes you do , think you can buy off Amazon or B&m if you have one nearby

We have a little dispenser of Amazon. You need the test strips too to make sure it’s not too chlorinated xx

Fab thanks both...follow on stupid question..do you know if I can then use the water to water the lawn / plants when I empty it or will it kill them?!

You need chlorine and to test multiple times per day in warm weather.

chlorine evaporates readily which is why your pool needs testing regularly. Tap water here is used on lawns and is chlorinated so I would expect that your lawn would be fine.

Yes to chlorine, we get tablets that go in a floating dispenser. We tip water on to grass/hedge and it doesn't seem to hurt them, wouldn't put into flowers/veg tho. I would really recommend an algaecide too, algae can develop quickly in heat even with chlorine, and is a nightmare to clean. We have a paddling pool that holds about 200 gallons - an hour or so to fill, and I do a complete water change maybe twice over summer months, depending when it goes up and how much use it gets. Just about to jump in now for the first time this year Smile
