Places to eat and drink for a large group in/near Greenwich Park

I'm planning an outing that will involve 20-30 people.

We'll end up in Greenwich for a late lunch and maybe a few beers.

IME pubs aren't keen on a large group descending. I'm wondering if there's somewhere nearby we can buy takeaway sandwiches and drinks to have in the park and if this is acceptable in the area.

We're well-behaved, it won't be rowdy, but I understand concerns re large groups and alcohol.

There used to be a great noodle place there , we used to descend on them in a large group then have a drink in the park. Probably not there any more!

Last time I was there there was an M and S.

I'd try calling a couple of pubs to book an area, in late afternoon I doubt they'll object. Gypsy Moth next to the Cutty Sark has a decent sized beer garden so you could book an area; space inside too but their outside is nice. Old Brewery would be more than big enough for you all too. If you want to add a mini event, set up a Meantime tasting rooms tour for everyone.

Greenwich park or over the river Millwall park (go through the tunnel) are both ok to sit and eat/ drink, but a huge group drinking and chatting loudly is going to look very antisocial to other park users. It's not against any rules for over-18s to have alcohol in a royal park, nor millwall... but you'll get looks for sure.

Lots of large groups congregate in the park with picnics- last week I saw a group of about 30 adults who had set up trestle tables with food and they were running a sports day event. It looked great fun! Plenty of people have badminton nets / frisbees etc too.

There are plenty of places to get food in the market and M and S or one of the newsagents is your best bet for drinks. Plus there is a pub called the Greenwich tavern opposite the park that does takeaway drinks if you run out. This afternoon we got sushi from the market and ate in the park, it was lovely.

If you did want to book a pub I really like Enderby House which is a ten minute walk along the Thames path heading towards the o2- it's spread over 3 floors so most likely to have spaces for a large group. Other nice / large pubs are the Sail Loft which is also on the Thames path in the other direction or The Prince of Greenwich on Royal Hill is nice too.

Book the top floor room of the Cutty Sark pub? It's a walk from the park, but it's lovely.

Or one of the rooms at the Trafalgar Tavern?
