Gift ideas for neighbours

We are renovating what had been a derelict property for 10yrs. It will be 2yrs renovating by the time its complete and I'd like to buy the neighbours a gift. They have allowed us and workmen to park in there drives, put up with noise, radios and dust on their cars etc. Both couples are in their early 80's. Any ideas appreciated?

A thank you card and something for the garden?

A valet service for their cars and a window cleaner?!
Do they have a favourite expensive restaurant- perhaps pay for them to enjoy a meal out?
Are they particularly keen on gardening - so some nice plants or garden furniture?
A bit depends on your budget as well as their likes.

Invite them for drinks and nibbles and a tour of the finished house. I’d be itching to know what it was like after all that work!

then send them home with plants or garden centre vouchers.

If they like their garden and budget allows how about a bird bath or bench?

Failing that an afternoon tea hamper?

Sounds like they've more than earned a special treat 😊

How lovely of you to want to do something special to thank them

They both have stunning, well manicured gardens. I assume they have all the tools and plants they want. I was thinking of a hamper with food and wine, but the bird feeder is a another idea I hadn't thought of. Our vouchers to a local garden centre.

They have all been so welcoming and friendly, and due to the length of build, I'd spent about £30-£50 each. We would also have them around once its done.

You'd need to be sure that the couples in their eighties could, and would eat and drink anything from a hamper.
Something for the garden is a great idea, or I was thinking of theatre tickets - and you take them.

Do they have any regular visiting family or friends that you could sound out about what they might like? I’m thinking narrow it down to say three choices and ask them if they think one option is better than the others, or know if there is something particular that the neighbours might really like?

Get the gift vouchers for the garden centre if you can. Our neighbours on each side are in their 80s and 70s and VERY garden proud. It's only with 8 years of living here that I know what foods they love e.g couple 1 he loves mini cheddar and is also diabetic so need to be careful, she loves flowers. Couple 2, she loves diet coke and him... our cat and chatting up the women at the petrol station. Both LOVE their gardens though.

I know one side love red wine! They must have a subscription, because I've taken delivery of the boxes before- but I don't know what type they like. They are all active and drive. 1 set play golf and tennis and have cats. The other side, 1 is an artist.

Unfortunately, 1 side have no children and the others have a son who lives abroad- so no close family to ask what they like. I'm learning towards garden centre vouchers more now.
