It’s free entry for under 3 or £36

I am going with a friend. She’s planning on trying to get her 6 year old through. No judgement please. She’s using the Kelloggs free adult (thanks to a lovely mumsnetter) and yet still out of her range. I can’t sub her £36 as that would be a stretch for me!

she has had a very rough year and money is very tight for her.

i know it is easy to judge but please try not to

Just after how strict Chessington is please

My friend and her seven year old got in on the preschool week day deal£25 for them both apparently, we were going to do it but then my daughter would've been absent from school and she's too tall to pass for a preschooler.

Glad there is a resolution but also be mindful that food is expensive there and there are a ton of those con-like throw a ball to get a teddy stalls.

I quite like the fact that free entry is based on height rather than age at Paultons park. Far less ambiguous and reflects the ride restrictions better.

@chilledbubble
I know, they're grifters. When their older kids were big enough and the younger one's weren't they put lifts in the younger child's shoes to get them on rides they were too small for.

That is awful parenting. Some of the rides my 2yo actually was tall enough for were wild, I can't imagine trying to get him on them when he was even smaller/younger.

It is much easier for the gate operators as they can just measure the child's height and it's clearly tall enough or not, whereas age there's no way to actually prove that a child is over 4 or whatever age itb would just be based on your judgement and people would argue.

Actually it’s not. I used to work on the rides at Chessington- what matters for the safety features is that the bottom of your shoes and the top of your head are in the right place. We were always told that anything firm that made you meet the requirements- like big wedge shoes- is totally fine. Much better than the lady who put her sons hood up and stuffed it full of crisps anyway!

My opinion is that it's still shit parenting. There's no need to get them on rides.

Just because something is different to what you would do doesn’t mean it’s shit ¯\(ツ)

And just because you think it isn't shit doesn't mean it isn't shit. 🙃
