Moral renaissance and Labour Party

For a while there I wondered what Keir and Angela were doing.

On reflection I feel they are on the right track.

They have now been cleared of what they were investigated into.

Time, I believe to steam ahead and call for a vote of no confidence.

Keir, Angela, if you don't be BOLD now the timing I believe will be off.

You need to ACT. Call the vote. New elections please.

Be brave.

Keir I know you are cautious but THIS TIME YOU NEED TO ROCK IT!

I believe they will call a vote of no confidence next week. The Lib Dems are also pushing for this. I’m not sure they’ll be successful but we desperately need a change of government. I thought Starmer seemed more confident and buoyant at the press conference this afternoon and was really good at PMQs on Wednesday.

stayingpositiveifpossible · 08/07/2022 22:08

They need to GO FOR IT NOW,

Nothing about (I'm sorry to be critical about 'not being successful' there is an element of 'do or die' about this now.

GET MOVING KEIR, ANGELA and the rest of you, you need to do it NOW. Else the moment will be lost.

Bump.

Not until they can both say what a woman is.

Good point. I agree actually.

Bump once more. What does everyone else think?

Ditch Momentum, go back to your roots, know what a woman is and take on the fight against the snp and remove the Tories as the second party in Scotland at Hoyrood.

EltonsSpareGlasses · 08/07/2022 22:31

They can call a vote of no confidence. With the huge majority the Tories have, it will be like pissing in the wind.

Absolutely no chance it would go through.

Even if it did the Tories have an opportunity to replace the PM first, which is what they are doing. It doesn't mean a GE.

They all know this and calling for it is all showmanship.

As pp has said, a vote of confidence doesn't mean a general election. They get to replace the PM with an alternative.

HRTQueen · 08/07/2022 22:36

Ditch Angela Rayner for a start

They are simply not ahead enough in the polls for Labour to safely win they should be after all that has happened far ahead and it’s mid term

keep to centre left you and shake up the shadow cabinet

EaselArt · 08/07/2022 22:39

They need to get out of Stonewall first.

AnaïsM · 08/07/2022 22:43

What would a vote of no confidence be for? The PM is leaving anyway.

stayingpositiveifpossible · 08/07/2022 22:45

What is wrong with Angela Rayner? I like her. She knows where many women are coming from on the ground.

Why are you asking them to ditch her?

No, he isn't leaving at all.
He plans to stay on for as long as he can.

That is how it works.

Unless a vote of no confidence comes about he will be there ad infinitum

I agree with you. But perhaps not 'first'.

He’s going to be gone in a couple of months; a vote of no confidence doesn’t change anything.

Labour need to concentrate on getting people to vote for them, not on making empty gestures.

SheldontheWonderSchlong · 08/07/2022 22:52

I'm not sure there can be a moral renaissance when labour are happy to lie to the nation that they genuinely believe transwomen are actual women!

I'm not sure either. However compared to Boris and co.

I think there is scope for a moral renaissance.

If they call a vote of no confidence now, even those Tories who hate BJ will still vote in favour of hanging on to the status quo because they know that having a GE now would not be good timing for them.

No, he will be gone by the end of August, as the 1922 will confirm on Monday with the timetable of the leadership contest.

People may want him gone immediately, but I don't know any PM of any party who hasn't stayed during the leadership contest for the replacement.
