Sloppy Giuseppe pizza?

If it had been stored in the fridge and I liked it, then yes.

I do play a bit fast and loose with use by dates though. If it has been stored properly, it smells ok and I can’t see any mould, it’s fine.

bilbodog · 08/07/2022 10:13

Yes

MaggieFS · 08/07/2022 10:20

Yes. Wouldn't think twice.

ChiselandBits · 08/07/2022 10:29

I pay zero attention to dates and go by the look and smell of a product.

KarrotKake · 08/07/2022 10:29

If it looked and smelt OK, yes, I would.

Ragwort · 08/07/2022 10:36

Of course - what do you think happens to a pizza at midnight? Hmm

No wonder there is so much food wastage when people can't use their common sense....

Hmm someone's tetchy today

ifonly4 · 08/07/2022 10:48

As long as it smelt and tasted ok, then definitely.

TuftyMarmoset · 08/07/2022 10:53

Yes definitely, assuming it didn’t smell/look off.

haggan · 08/07/2022 10:57

I wouldn't. I am autistic and have a mental block with dates though.

I completely disagree with the comment about people not using common sense it it creating food waste though. I NEVER bin food. I plan and buy and organise down to every last detail. There is nothing to bin. I buy what I need and use it.

liveforsummer · 08/07/2022 10:58

I think all the meat in there is highly processed anyway isn't it? Things that are lower risk. I'd eat

IcedOatLatte · 08/07/2022 11:01

Absolutely don't do that, the special powers of the pizza know the time to the second and will by now be very dangerous to eat

Or, make like a normal person and if it's ain't moldy crack on and eat it 😁

Seriously, what do you think is going to happen to you?

You may do that, but plenty of others don't so it does lead to a lot of good food being wasted.

I agree with Ragwort

withiceplease · 08/07/2022 11:03

Yes if it smells ok
I have had to chuck in date chicken before now so the date is only a guideline to me

InMySpareTime · 08/07/2022 11:07

Was it "use by" or "best before"?
Best before dates you can go well over as long as you don't mind a loss of freshness, use by you really need to use your judgment to see if it looks/smells/tastes dodgy.
I'd eat it, but then I only realised the bread was mouldy this morning when I already had it in the toaster, and I just picked off the mouldy corner and ate the rest.

haggan · 08/07/2022 11:14

Urgh. But not in my case. Which was the point. I didn't want anyone reading that I wouldn't t eat it and think that I don't 'use my common sense'

That is happening more often to me these days, chicken is clearly off before the date

This. Some people need to learn to trust their senses more.

OliveHenry · 08/07/2022 11:20

Absolutely would eat it.

But I've eaten 6 months out of date yoghurt, much to a friend's horror 😄

MsOllie · 08/07/2022 11:24

Yum, yes!

I got that was your point and it's brilliant that you do do that, many others need to follow as well.

The statistics are truly appalling in the amount of food wasted each year.

Zazdar · 08/07/2022 11:30

I would eat virtually anything one day out of date if it had been stored properly and hadn’t spoiled prematurely.

QueSyrahSyrah · 08/07/2022 11:30

Assuming it had been in the fridge, definitely. I'd probably push it to 2 days to be fair, but I've never been especially precious about use by dates. If it looks ok and it smells ok then I'll eat it. Haven't died yet.
