Could grocery delivery drivers also uplift for foodbank?

I try to avoid going into Tesco, preferring home delivery, so do not often go past their foodbank collection point.

Could delivery drivers also accept donations for the foodbank? So either something I've bought in my shop, I just mark that they should add it to the foodbank. Or I give them something at the door, maybe something I bought elsewhere? I mean, I don't think they currently do but maybe this could be brought in?

Could you not just donate £ online to a food bank? Seems silly for trucks to drive around with a bunch of extra food while doing their rounds.

Yep that sounds like a much better idea!!

Yeo donate online (money always welcome so they can top up what they need but don’t have) or ask if your local church collect food bank donations (often they are within walking distance if your able to do so).
Maybe ask on Facebook if someone does a regular donation collection. Sometimes local schools also do food bank collections.

Thanks guys. Yes, happy to donate money.
I suppose if it made sense, this idea of mine, they would already be doing it!

Good idea about church/school collections. I am perfectly mobile, I just like the idea of killing two Tesco birds with one stone! Delivery and collection!

@ChinBristles sorted! (Sorry didn’t mean to offend re mobility)

I give a small amount via paypal to a local foodbank. They say that money goes further and you will help more people as they can buy 10 cans of soup at the price we would pay in the shop for 1.

@Alphabet1spaghetti2 oh no offence taken, it was thoughtful of you to consider that some folk who get tesco delivery maybe doing so because they are not mobile.

Ocado do a 'you give - we give' voucher you can add to your shopping, so they match the value of your donation.

@SausageinaBun now that’s a really good idea.
@ChinBristles no worries!😀
