Is this a bit naff? Teacher presents

My child has around 8 teaching/support staff (in a highly specialist setting) and I just can't afford to buy them all an expensive present each this year.

I was going to get a M&S hamper for them to share but soon realised it's much better value to buy these items individually and put them in a nice bag - I could get more for my budget for the same cost as 1 hamper.

But is it a bit naff?

My thought was they could either pick something from the bag to take home, or put the items in the staff room and share between them.

Or would I be better off just getting 8x £5 presents like a box of chocolates for each member of staff?

And - yes I know they don't want/need gifts but we would like to show a token of thanks considering all they have done for us this year.

In my daughters nursery there are 4 members of staff, I filled a gift bag up with some treats and gave them that as a wee treat for the staff room. In your situation I’d do the same but just put more in, some boxes of biscuits and boxes of chocolate and that’s it really.

Either idea sounds lovely

Same boat. 8 staff in class plus salt staff. I've bought them a box of celebrations and card each.

The hamper idea is lovely and I’m planning to do similar for my daughters teachers. Tea, coffee, biscuits ect not stuff that will go off in a week then they can keep them in the staff room for September.

Thanks for the replies, glad it isn't a naff idea!

I wouldn't go with M&S. Just go to a supermarket and get biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar. Give the staff room a stock up. They staff will all love it!!

I bought a nice whicker basket and some shredded paper and put in a selection of shower gels, soaps, body lotion, and hand lotion. Because they were good quality, but not ridiculous (Dove, imperial leather etc) people could take their pick and have something nice they preferred. Basket was reusable and paper biodegradeable.

We have to buy our own tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits. These things are always welcomed as gifts.

£40 is a lot of money!
I'd honestly just get some nice biscuits for the staff room.
Maybe something nice handmade from your DD (if she can).

I used to work with adults with various disabilities. My favourite gifts were little crafts they made me.
