Can anyone advise me the best ticket to buy to travel from Heathrow to Stratford Westfield?
Also might stop in sloane Square for a wander mid route.
Thanks for any help

There’s tickitysplit type websites that break it down for you

Boredandsingle · 05/07/2022 10:20

You can just use your contactless debit card to touch in and out- both Heathrow/Sloane sq/Stratford Westfield are on the tube

Depends on how much of a rush you are in IMO, cheapest and easiest would be to simply use the Piccadilly line all the way and hop off at South ken for Sloane Square, then district and central (changing at mile end) to get out to Stratford, you can do this just using a contractless card so no need to buy a ticket at all, but the Piccadilly from Heathrow to zone 1 is so slooowww. I'd use the Heathrow express and/or Elizabeth line myself changing at Liverpool Street or Tottenham court road to the central line, for the Heathrow express you'll have to buy a ticket which you can do online and download to your phone or just at the machines at the station, then Elizabeth line again is contactless... But obviously this route doesn't take you anywhere near Sloane Square so depends how much you want to go there specifically really?

Geranium1984 · 05/07/2022 10:21

You could go on the new Elizabeth Line (would not be able to go via sloane Sq).

If you wanted to go to Sloane Square then you're best to take Picadilly Line to South Kensington then swap to the district line for one stop. If you have heavy luggage then you could swap earlier at Barrons Court as there are no stairs involved.

Then front SS take the district line to Mile end and then one stop on central line to Stratford.

All can be done using an oyster card.

I dont have an oyster card, id just use contactless, seems easier. Does anyone have a clue what it might cost? Id go via south ken on the piccadilly line.

the daily cap is about £14 from Zone 6

BlackberrySky · 05/07/2022 10:32

The daily cap for contactless from zone 6 (where Heathrow is) is about £14. So this is the max your card would be charged in that 24 hour period, not matter how many more journeys you do after that limit has been reached

Brilliant thanks

I would use Elizabeth line all the way. You have change at Paddington and Liverpool Street but it's fresh and clean and very easy to change with luggage because it's all step free.

Heathrow express is just a waste of money imo.

Download the Citymapper app. It will give you all of the options. It's excellent.

FayeGovan · 05/07/2022 11:18

Im thinking of just getting on the piccadilly line at t5, hoping its easy to find.

Yep underground and trains are very easy to find, it's well signposted and it's just a lift ride from the terminal

FayeGovan · 05/07/2022 11:48

Thank you
