As the title says I and my family break kettles. We have gone through about 6 in the last decade - usually buy mid priced ones. We've had a De'Longhi, Russell Hobbs, breville.... we do drink quite a lot of hot drinks but I can't understand it. Current kettle has recently stopped boiling and cuts off too early.

Talk to me about your bulletproof kettles. I'm willing to spend quite a lot if it lasts.

If you’ve landed here looking for recommendations, we’ve recently updated our best kettle guide with plenty of high-quality, long-lasting options that come Mumsnetter approved. We hope they’re useful!

Kettles are usually rubbish, despite price, reputation or brand

Expect to go through a lot of them

Do you use the same plug outlet with each kettle? Might be faulty wiring in the outlet causing electrical shorts in your kettles.
