How much do you budget for holiday accommodation per night for a family of four?

Prices seem to have skyrocketed since covid, in the UK at least. Next year DS starts school so we'll be restricted to school holidays and I'm absolutely dreading it 😲 I know it's all relative to everyone's individual financial circumstances, but I'd be interested to know how much other families budget, especially if they have school age kids.

I’m a teacher so always restricted to school holidays. The answer is how long is a piece of string? I tend to set a budget and then plan around it. Our holidays have varied from camping at £30-40 a night to Florida at £6-700 a night. Those figures are all in for 2a2c I’m sure it’s possible to spend more.

Worst value has been Forest Holiday in Cornwall which was £1k for 5 nights, it rained all week and the accommodation was far less comfortable than our house.

How long is a price of string?! What type of holiday, where, when?

We have 2 young children and find that 2 bedroom self catering accommodation works best for us, the kids can go to bed in their own space and we can have a separate space to sit up and have a glass of wine/watch tv etc in the evenings. We're staying in the UK this summer and spending 10 days in a couple of different places, I think it's working out between £150 and £200 a night for nice AirB&B places/holiday lodges.
