Rewatching at 8 months pregnant....probably not the best idea 😅

However, what's worrying me is not the pain that is to come (I remember it all to well from previous DC anyway)... but some of the people on here are absolute twats. Mothers and partners/husband's acting as birth support, but moaning that they're bored, berating women for not progressing quickly enough, complaining they're hungry, don't feel needed enough, want to know when the baby is coming.

I've never been one to be grateful that DH isn't a total tit, but honestly this is pushing me that way 🤣 Can't believe I didn't see it watching first time round! Possibly because I'm older, have been through it a couple of times myself and have totally lost my tolerance for dickheads. Just hope they deliberately chose the 'characters' and this isn't actually representative of how women are treated.

Oh, you only need to read a few threads on here to see that sadly, a lot of women are treated that way, and not just during childbirth.

What shocks me is how many still put up with it. Some women on OBEM are there having their second or third. With the same useless excuse for a father. I can only assume their own parents had very low standards, and sadly the cycle just keeps on going. It’s really a shame, and it doesn’t stop at childbirth. Those mothers will be doing night feeds, nappy changes, and all childcare alone, most of the time. Whilst he pesters them for more kids, complains the house isn’t pristine, and shouts when his favourite meal isn’t on the table.

It's heavily edited though and a passing comment made over many hours of filming can make someone look terrible or amazing.
I imagine early stages of labour are bloody boring when you aren't the one doing it.

So go do something else. Early stages DH had a nap, we watched a movie, went about the day. He tidied a little and brought me food. He could have gone out when it was that early on and I would have managed as long as he was contactable.

Some of the people on there are awful. God forbid you can hang around for a day or two waiting for your wife/partner to push another human out her body.

I do agree it's heavily edited, however there definitely is a significant subsection of people who are acting likely total arseholes. One guy in the first series shouting at his wife that he's fed up, she can't do it, her pain threshold is too low...I mean honestly, what an arse!

As I said it's heavily edited, I imagine there's tons of footage of naps and food etc but it's full to watch.
The programme makers want you to feel something even if it's just annoyed so they will make it that way
