There is little industrial estate down the road from me that has a kickboxing and boxing classes in the one of the buildings, I'm overweight but determined to do something about it, does anyone do kickboxing and is it good?

I did it a couple of times and loved it. I only didn’t continue as it was quite expensive and I didn’t have enough money spare to spend £50 a month on exercise at the time. I also loved Krav Maga, which is self defence.

I love it, I've been doing it for about a year with my daughter. Really good for fitness, we do a lot of cardio/stamina work as well as the punches and kicks.

Yes it's great fun. Used to do kickboxing related fitness classes and was really good. I imagine it depends on the gym/instructor a lot. They'll usually give you a trial session to see if you like it.

I used to go, I loved it. Gave up due to shifts.
Hard work 😬

Not kickboxing but I do two other martial arts. Give it a go! You won't be able to walk after training for a couple of weeks but your fitness will improve really quickly.

I did, about 10 years ago. I was lightest I'd been for years doing it 3 or 4 times a week. Had to give it up as my then DH lost his job so we couldn't afford it. I'm now 3 stone heavier. It was hard work, but good fun and gave me a real sense of achievement.

Both my daughters did kick boxing, and I took up Taekwondo at 45...and got my black belt at 48 Grin. Go for it. It's great fun, it's sociable and it does not matter what level of fitness you start at...as you will improve! I wanted to work through the grades because it motivated me to keep going...(and by the time I was approaching my black belt it was tough.. that grading over two weeks was the hardest thing I've ever done...and also the most satisfying achievement of my life!)

Do it :)
