£40 month here on a 12 month contract!

Seems expensive?!

£39.99 which includes unlimited use of the gym, pool and fitness classes. No minimum contract.

Ours was about £40 a month for access to two pools, classes at different sites and various gyms. But they were all spread out so I couldn't e.g. go to a yoga class then for a swim etc. The pools were very random in when they were open as well.

I now go to a more expensive gym all on one site which suits me better.

Individual: £22.50 per month.
Family: £32.50 per month

£50/month on a contract in Oxfordshire. Mediocre pool and gym, classes, but no racquet sports.

I think it’s a lot, but the place still seems to be falling into disrepair. It’s such a shame.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 28/06/2022 07:22

It's got cheaper this year. £47.50 a month - the only one worth getting is the one that allows you to use all their facilities, otherwise you're paying to not be able to swim every morning after 7am, through the day, 4/5 evenings due to school lessons and swimming clubs and private hires both Saturday afternoon and most of Sunday before it closes early - by travelling around the area, people could just about get 3-4 slots for charging up and down the lanes (no relaxing swims allowed) a week.

I'm not a member, unsurprisingly.

Hawkmother · 28/06/2022 07:24

@TheGoodburger that’s fantastic value! Ours are £34.99 for standard membership which allows access to one centre - we live between two in the same group so that’s not ideal! £49.99 to be able to use any in the group.

My main gripe with the council pool is that the pool is booked out for lessons and private activities so much that there’s only about 9 hours a week it’s possible to take the kids during term and even then 5 of them are directly after school before lessons start.

As a result I go to a cheapo gym 10 minutes walk away and take the kids to the local university pool which has much more flexibility (but a 20 min drive instead of a 5 min drive / 30 min walk).

MinnieMountain · 28/06/2022 07:31

£39 a month if you want to swim. It includes gyms at 3 venues, classes and the lido on weekdays.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 28/06/2022 07:34

£30 a month for three leisure centres. No contract and it includes all classes, swimming and the gym. There is an off peak option which is a lot cheaper too.

skysareblue · 28/06/2022 07:37

£25 a month includes pool, classes, gym and hiring of halls for badminton etc. i think there are about 14 leisure centres you can use with that. I'm in scotland.

ThingammyBob · 28/06/2022 07:40

Ours is £36 a month for a family membership, so two adults and up to two children. Gives access to all the council gyms, pools and classes in the area. I'm in the highlands so it covers quite a large area. It can also be used for Schools out classes and events too.

emmathedilemma · 27/06/2022 16:51

There's a billion different pricing structures but the most expensive is £58.80 for full use of gym, pools and classes at all venues across the city (12 gyms / 9 pools). Gym only, class only or swim only are all just under £40 a month.

About the same. Was cheaper to join the fancy gym with my 10% NHS discount.

ohidoliketobe · 28/06/2022 07:47

Lamcashire here - £250 annual or £28 p/m rolling DD.
Access to 9 centres and includes gyms, pools, fitness classes

ForcingSmiles · 28/06/2022 07:59

I paid £400 upfront for the year which is access to gym, classes and pool. Mines region based so I can use any of the council gyms in that chain in the region (I regularly go between two)

waterlego · 28/06/2022 08:01

Our is about £40 a month and gives use of 7 different sites.

There are three swimming pools, 4 gyms, 100s of classes including all the usual stuff, plus Les Mills, Pole fitness, yoga, Pilates.

Tennis, badminton, squash, AstroTurf footie pitches, athletic track, table tennis, adult swim coaching. The family memberships include swimming lessons for kids.

3 x spas with hot tub, steam room, sauna

There’s probably more but I can’t remember it all. I think it’s excellent value for money compared to our local David Lloyd which was about £90 a month last time I looked.

We’re in West Sussex.

Angelina1972 · 28/06/2022 08:09

£15 a month.

Popcorn77 · 28/06/2022 08:11

25 if you can get a mate’s subscription (join with a friend) or 32 otherwise.

StopFeckingFaffing · 28/06/2022 08:13

£25 West Yorkshire

That includes gym suit, swimming and classes at all locations (except 1)in my area

I got a corporate rate through work and think the standard is £29

ZenNudist · 28/06/2022 08:15

£35 Manchester but there is an updated one that is excluded from membership and costs £40. Or that might be £30 and £35...

Gotanewlife · 28/06/2022 08:22

Just renewed for one year £254 over 60 rate in Salisbury council leisure centre. That is for gym and swimming.

motogirl · 28/06/2022 08:24

£46 for a month to month contract , £42 a month for a years

motogirl · 28/06/2022 08:26

No council ones here they sold them

Bearsan · 28/06/2022 08:27

£25 a month includes gym, swim, spa, classes and discount on courts/sport clubs.
Great value.

ExtremelyDedicated · 28/06/2022 08:35

£37 here for ex-council gym, pool and classes, can use any centre owned by the same national group, our local one is brand new with a huge, very well equipped gym, masses of classes, clean pool which you book slots for so it's never too crowded.

Shellingbynight · 28/06/2022 08:50

It's £46 a month for 'premier membership' to use the facilities at two sites - pool, classes, gym, sauna.

But there are a billion other membership options. I have a swim-only annual membership which is just under £300, so each swim costs me about £2 instead of the pay-per-go price of £5.40. I also get discounted prices on classes. East Sussex.

LindaEllen · 28/06/2022 08:51

£15 for just gym, £20 for gym/swim/spa.
