Constant dieting ...what made the difference when you were finally successful?

I just cannot stick to anything. I do really want to lose weight. I want to feel fitter, healthier as well as look better. I want to be able to buy clothes i like rather than just what fits.

But I cannot keep up, always end up snacking. Logic tells me it mustn't matter enough or I would resist the chocolate bar(s!) etc. But that makes no sense because I definitely would feel better if lighter.

So others who tried repeatedly to lose weight and finally did it, what made the difference please?

For me, it was having very little other stress at the time- work/life balance was good, hobbies took up a nice amount of time, nice friends to see, kids at sn easy stage. Everyone life gets stressful, I eat more!

Turning 40 this year and finding a diet that suits me. I do the 16:8 and it just works so well for me.

I'm turning 50 in 18 months and I refuse to be fat at 50 🤣 so I'm more determined than ever to stick to my healthy eating plan.
I think about everything I put near my mouth and ask myself if I really want it 🤷‍♀️

I was very "all or nothing" when dieting before, whereas this time round I'm more accepting that you get the odd bad day. They don't ruin your overall weightloss when you're on track most of the time, and it's really helped me longer term.

I also never skip meals as you're far more likely to end up overeating later.

I'm not keen on the drugs approach although I have considered it. (Have read everything from hypnotism to surgery this morning!)

Think I will try to pay attention to when I'm overeating.

Have taken the simple step of not buying chocolate/biscuits/crisps this week. Better for the children too.

I gave to smoking from 30 a day after 10+ years so i must have some willpower.
