Alien Ant Farm's cover of Smooth Criminal is better than the MJ original.

Changenameobviousreasons · 24/06/2022 21:20

@notacooldad totally agreed 😂 I liked them before it was cool (David sung down with the sickness at me in 2005 haha I have photographic evidence!)

As for everyone else, even NIN think Johnny Cash did it better. As for Eloise, the person who reminded me of this..... Thankyou!

I like: Sisters Of Mercy - Gimme Shelter
Take that - everything changes
Forever never - Mr boombastic (makes me laugh everytime!)

Bright Eyes - Manic Street Preachers
yy to Johnny Cash’s Hurt. I love Placebo’s (and, errr, Will Young’s) running up that hill but it’s not superior to Kate Bush
Time after Time - Tuck and Patti
Hey ya - Will Young
Hand on my Heart - Jose Gonzales (also Heartbeat but I didn’t know it was a cover at the time)
Call Me Maybe - Ben Howard
Modern Love - Bat for Lashes

GoodSister · 24/06/2022 21:24

Oh and Romeo and Juliet - The Killers

Hallelujah KD Lang every time

100%

Paul Young’s version of Wherever I Lay My Hat is much better than the original. The way he sings it, you really feel he’s kidding himself and is desperately in love with someone.

Whereas Marvin just sings it like he’s a right git.

Johnny Cash’s version of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails

This is exactly what I was coming on to say

Barry Ryan did the original. It's still great and dramatic.
