Can I get evicted for my rent arrears?

I've lived in my house now for a year.
At the minute I'm receiving Universal Credit.
Universal credit gets paid in arrears and my housing association are saying I need to be 1 month in credit.
I pay my rent on time every month but it's impossible for me to be a month in credit.
I've explained that UC pays In arrears
They have said I need to pay a extra £40 a month so I can eventually be in credit.
I literally can't afford it.
Can they evict me because i am not 1 month in credit?
Im worried sick.

I can't pay any other day that's the date UC pay
Not really sure what else I can do

My HA also would like for all tenants to be a month in credit with their rent accounts. Like OF COURSE they would like to have all of those £500 in their bank accounts!

I pay a small amount extra every month, I think it’s around £10 which over the course of a year will give me around £100 buffer. Could you afford to pay an extra 50p/£1 a week?

I think as far as eviction and rent arrears go, so long as you’re in credit once a month when the payment from UC, I’m not sure they have a leg to stand on.

Just ask them to apply for direct payment from UC

I don't want them to apply for a direct payment as there's no need too
Uc pay me the housing element and that gets paid to them on the date the Uc goes in

@SteakExpectations I'm going to ask would they accept £10 and see what they say
Fingers crossed

It sounds like you ARE paying late, so they're not totally wrong here.

However, if you don't have other means to pay, there's little else you can do, and in answer to your original question, they're unlikely to begin eviction procedures as there isn't a "static" debt.

Hopefully they will accept you offer of £10 pcm.

It's because when you apply for Uc you have to wait 5 weeks with no payment.
My current account balance is £14.56 credit
But obviously next week it will go up to £110 till the wednesay when I get paid again.
Then I'm in credit for 3 weeks till the last week but they want a full month in credit

Yes, I have a friend in the same situation, his rent account shows arrears until housing benefits are paid( not on UC yet)
I think he arranged to pay in £5 per month to his HA rent account
Is your Council tax support ok?

Do not ask for direct payments of rent as technically if they fill on the landlords form on the wrong time of the month you could end up with a 20% deduction for the “arrears”
