End of term gift etiquette

I always get the teachers and support staff a bottle of wine/ staff room treats/ etc. That's fine, no prob. What about the music teacher? Kids been playing for 2.5 years but I've never thought to include this teacher in the gifts. They learn at the teacher's home and we pay for the lessons. Both DDs attended and love the lessons. Teacher fives a bag of mini Xmas chocs at Dec holiday but I don't think they get any treats at end of term.

Thoughts?

I can't speak for music teachers per se, but I can recommend these candle and wax melt gift boxes as great alternatives from wine or best teacher mugs...

The maker is a former reception teacher too so she vouches for the fact that teachers are extra grateful for a break from the norm!

But so many people are allergic
Anything with oil flares up my daughters eczema - melts are awful

So many people are allergic to lots of things like nuts (me included) and wine too... they won't be perfect for everyone, they're just another option. These ones are made from soy wax rather than paraffin wax so they may be less aggravating, I can't speak for the fragrance oils used however, I wouldn't know I'm afraid, although mine did have a safety label with details.

I never did end of term gifts. Not required at all.

I sent in the odd box of chocs as an end of year gift, but not even always then.

I have given end of year (and Christmas) gifts every year so far, it usually ends up costing me around £50 for teachers and TAs.
I'm not doing them this year.
There are several kids of school staff at the school and they win the prizes in the competitions everytime (bake a cake comp, make a poster comp, pupil of the term etc) ds even said to me "I don't see the point in doing this as [TA child name] will win, and yes they did, so I'm chucking my toys out of the pram and not buying them anything! Childish, I know, but it's pissed me off!

The thought is nice but teachers are just as pleased with a little card or even an email to be honest, only if you feel the need. I got a nice box of chocolates last week from some students; I was very touched but I'm not eating sugar at the moment so I can't really enjoy them. I've got the card and note they gave with it on my noticeboard though, and that will last much longer.

We give the "extra" teachers like DD's music teacher, DS's sports coach a Christmas and end of year gift. I do that in preference to giving the class teacher a gift tbh. DS's sport's coach was nearly in tears when DS handed over his hand made card and gift, said he'd never been given a gift before! Card is now pride of place on the club notice board 😀
After some pretty shit dealings with class teachers, I've said I'll chip in to a class gift if there's one organised, else the DC have to make something if they want to give their teacher something. Last year DS gave the TA a gift but not the class teacher.

If you want to give gifts make sure they are consumables and not body lotion. Teachers only need so many mugs
